    What is the minimum duation a star should be present on any particular day to fix it as the tar of the day? Similarly the same doubt about thithi also may be given.

    Dear Srinivasan,
    You can not fix any star as star of the day in general!
    But, as per your title of this post,
    From sun rise the star should be there for atleast 12 x 24 = 288 minutes (12 is Nazhigai).
    If a star occurs twice in a month and both are satisfying the above condition then the second occurrence
    of that star should be selected for doing any karma which are to be done on the Janma Star.
