Dear Sir ,
We often come across this term Mandalam such as Manadalabishekam,Mandalapooja,Upavasam for a Mandalam for a purpose etc., Actually what it denotes and what is the exact period for a Mandalam ?

Sri:
Mostly a mandalam is considered as six weeks i.e 48 days
but some people are maintaining this as 40 days.
I do not have evidence for this
