My mother died in my apartment in Trichy in Dec 2013. My astrologer has asked me to light nine deepams before Swami pictures in the pooja room for twenty four Thursdays as parikaaram in connection with marriage of my eldest son. Whether is it allowed as per shastrams and vedic rules to do prarthana in the same apartment before Varusha AApthigham is finished. I will be performing Varusha Aapthigham in Chennai. Your guidance in the matter is very much requested.

You can light lamp lamp before swamy picture, but as it is for a pariharam to get the full effect / phalan
let it be done by some one else other than yourself (and wife).
