4.29.19b-20a ந ஹி தாவத்பவேத்காலோ
வ்யதீதஸ்சோதநாத்ருதே ।
சோதிதஸ்ய ஹி கார்யஸ்ய
பவேத்காலவ்யதிக்ரம: ॥
na hi tāvadbhavētkālō
vyatītaṡcōdanādṛtē ।
cōditasya hi kāryasya
bhavētkālavyatikramaḥ ॥
The question of delay does not arise
when acted upon before being prompted;
but acting only after being asked
will certainly be counted as an occasion of delay.
4.29.20b-21a அகர்துரபி கார்யஸ்ய
பவாந்கர்தா ஹரீஸ்வர ।
கிம் புந: ப்ரதிகர்துஸ்தே
ராஜ்யேந ச தநேந ச ॥
akarturapi kāryasya
bhavānkartā harīṡvara ।
kiṃ punaḥ pratikartustē
rājyēna ca dhanēna ca ॥
You, O Lord of Vānaras, help
even those who have done no favor to you;
how much more, then, should you return the favor
to one who has helped you
to gain the kingdom and riches?
4.29.21b-22a ஸக்திமாநபிவிக்ராந்தோ
வாநரர்க்ஷகணேஸ்வர ।
கர்தும் தாஸரதே: ப்ரீதிம்
ஆஜ்ஞாயாம் கிந்ந ஸஜ்ஜஸே ॥
ṡaktimānapivikrāntō
vānararkṣagaṇēṡvara ।
kartuṃ dāṡarathēḥ prītim
ājñāyāṃ kinna sajjasē ॥
You are very powerful and daring.
You are the lord of hordes of Vānaras and bears.
How is it that you are relaxed on giving orders
to do what pleases the son of Daṡaratha?
4.29.22b-23a காமம் கலு ஸரைஸ்ஸக்த:
ஸுராஸுரமஹோரகாந் ।
வஸே தாஸரதி: கர்தும்
த்வத்ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாமவேக்ஷதே ॥
kāmaṃ khalu ṡaraiṡṡaktaḥ
surāsuramahōragān ।
vaṡē dāṡarathiḥ kartum
tvatpratijñāmavēkṣatē ॥
The son of Daṡaratha is very much capable of
bringing all the Suras, Asuras and the great Uragas
under his control with his arrows.
He is just waiting for you to fulfill your promise.
4.29.23b-24a ப்ராணத்யாகாவிஸங்கேந
க்ருதம் தேந தவப்ரியம் ।
தஸ்ய மார்காம வைதேஹீம்
ப்ருதிவ்யாமபி சாம்பரே ॥
prāṇatyāgāviṡaṅkēna
kṛtaṃ tēna tavapriyam ।
tasya mārgāma vaidēhīm
pṛthivyāmapi cāmbarē ॥
He has done a favor for you
without even caring for his own life.
We shall search for Vaidēhi,
regardless of whether she is on the earth or in the sky.
4.29.24b-25a தேவதாநவ கந்தர்வா:
அஸுராஸ்ஸமருத்கணா: ।
ந ச யக்ஷா பயம் தஸ்ய
குர்யு: கிமிவ ராக்ஷஸா: ॥
dēvadānava gandharvāḥ
asurāssamarudgaṇāḥ ।
na ca yakṣā bhayaṃ tasya
kuryuḥ kimiva rākṣasāḥ ॥
Neither Dēvas, Dānavas, Gandharvas,
nor Asuras joined by hosts of Maruts
can cause fear in him; what to say of Rakshasas!
4.29.25b-26a ததேவம் ஸக்தியுக்தஸ்ய
பூர்வம் ப்ரியக்ருதஸ்தவ ।
ராமஸ்யார்ஹஸி பிங்கேஸ
கர்தும் ஸர்வாத்மநா ப்ரியம் ॥
tadēvaṃ ṡaktiyuktasya
pūrvaṃ priyakṛtastava ।
rāmasyārhasi piṅgēṡa
kartuṃ sarvātmanā priyam ॥
Rāma is such an extremely powerful person
and has done a favor to you in the past.
O Lord of the red-eyed Vānaras, you should
strive by all means to do what pleases him.
4.29.26b-27a நாதஸ்தாதவநௌ நாப்ஸு
கதிர்நோபரி சாம்பரே ।
கஸ்யசித்ஸஜ்ஜதேऽஸ்மாகம்
கபீஸ்வர தவாஜ்ஞயா ॥
nādhastādavanau nāpsu
gatirnōpari cāmbarē ।
kasyacitsajjatē'smākam
kapīṡvara tavājñayā ॥
O lord of Vānaras! There is no one among us
who will, if you command us so,
hesitate for a moment to go anywhere
in the nether world, on the earth,
in the waters or in the sky above.
4.29.27b-28a ததாஜ்ஞாபய க: கிம் தே
குதோ வாபி வ்யவஸ்யது ।
ஹரயோऽஹ்யப்ரத்ருஷ்யாஸ்தே
ஸந்தி கோட்யக்ரதோऽநக ॥
tadājñāpaya kaḥ kiṃ tē
kutō vāpi vyavasyatu ।
harayō'hyapradhṛṣyāstē
santi kōṭyagratō'nagha ॥
O sinless one! You have more than a crore of
invincible Vānaras under your command.
Command us as to what should be done where and by whom!
4.29.28b-29a தஸ்ய தத்வசநம் ஸ்ருத்வா
காலே ஸாது நிவேதநம் ।
ஸுக்ரீவஸ்ஸத்த்வஸம்பந்ந:
சகார மதிமுத்தமாம் ॥
tasya tadvacanaṃ ṡrutvā
kālē sādhu nivēdanam ।
sugrīvassattvasampannaḥ
cakāra matimuttamām ॥
On hearing those words, spoken well
and at the right time, Sugreeva,
who was endowed with great strength
set his mind on that great task.
4.29.29b-30a ஸ ஸந்திதேஸாபிமதம்
நீலம் நித்யக்ருதோத்யமம் ।
திக்ஷு ஸர்வாஸு ஸர்வேஷாம்
ஸைந்யாநாமுபஸங்க்ரஹே ॥
sa sandidēṡābhimatam
nīlaṃ nityakṛtōdyamam ।
dikṣu sarvāsu sarvēṣām
sainyānāmupasaṅgrahē ॥
Then he instructed his intention to Neela,
who was ever ready for an expedition,
to mobilize the forces from every direction
and bring them to one place.
4.29.30b-31a யதா ஸேநா ஸமக்ரா மே
யூதபாலாஸ்ச ஸர்வஸ: ।
ஸமாகச்சந்த்யஸங்கேந
ஸேநாக்ராணி ததா குரு ॥
yathā sēnā samagrā mē
yūthapālāṡca sarvaṡaḥ ।
samāgacchantyasaṅgēna
sēnāgrāṇi tathā kuru ॥
See to it that my entire army
headed by its commanders and captains
is assembled without delay.
4.29.31b-32 யே த்வந்தபாலா: ப்லவகா:
ஸீக்ரகா வ்யவஸாயிந: ।
ஸமாநயந்து தே ஸீக்ரம்
த்வரிதாஸ்ஸாஸநாந்மம ।
ஸ்வயம் சாநந்தரம் ஸைந்யம்
பவாநேவாநுபஸ்யது ॥
yē tvantapālāḥ plavagāḥ
ṡīghragā vyavasāyinaḥ ।
samānayantu tē ṡīghram
tvaritāṡṡāsanānmama ।
svayaṃ cānantaraṃ sainyam
bhavānēvānupaṡyatu ॥
May all the swift-moving, energetic Vānaras
who guard the frontiers be summoned
here quickly under my orders; and you should
personally supervise the army hereafter.
4.29.33 த்ரிபஞ்சராத்ராதூர்த்வம் ய:
ப்ராப்நுயாந்நேஹ வாநர: ।
தஸ்ய ப்ராணாந்திகோ தண்டோ
நாத்ர கார்யா விசாரணா ॥
tripañcarātrādūrdhvaṃ yaḥ
prāpnuyānnēha vānaraḥ ।
tasya prāṇāntikō daṇḍō
nātra kāryā vicāraṇā ॥
Let it be clear, beyond any negotiation,
that any Vānara who does not
present himself here within fifteen days
will be punished with the end of his life.
4.29.34 ஹரீம்ஸ்ச வ்ருத்தாநுபயாது ஸாங்கதோ
பவாந்மமாஜ்ஞாமதிக்ருத்ய நிஸ்சிதாம் ।
இதி வ்யவஸ்தாம் ஹரிபுங்கவேஸ்வரோ
விதாய வேஸ்ம ப்ரவிவேஸ வீர்யவாந் ॥
harīṃṡca vṛddhānupayātu sāṅgadō
bhavānmamājñāmadhikṛtya niṡcitām ।
iti vyavasthāṃ haripuṅgavēṡvarō
vidhāya vēṡma pravivēṡa vīryavān ॥
‘You, along with Aṅgada, shall inform
the elder Vānaras of my decision, following my command.’
Having thus ordered the arrangements to be made,
the powerful lord of the Vānara chieftains
retired to his abode.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
கிஷ்கிந்தாகாண்டே ஏகோநத்ரிம்ஸஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
kiṣkindhākāṇḍē ēkōnatriṃṡassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes the twenty ninth Sarga
in Kishkindhā Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
