For th benefit of those who are having sugar problems,I give below a recipe for MENTHI LEAVES ( வெந்தய இலை) ADAI. . Since this requires no onion or garlic,orthodox and vaidic brahmins can enjoy this dish.
Hope this will be tried by some.

Diabetic recipes
Menthi leaves adai


Raw rice 1/2 cup (Hand ponded)
Boiled rice 1/2 cup
Channa dhal 1/4 cup
Urad dhal 1 1/2 Table spoons
Red chillies 10
(Perunkayam) a little
salt 2tbs
Menthi leaves 3 bunches


Soak Urad dhal separately
Mix both type of rices together add channa dhal and soak for 2 hours
Grind Urad dhal nicely,frothy,.
Grind the other mix,rices + dhal with chillies,salt and asafoetida and then mix both batters together.
Mix chopped Menthileaves to the batter and then you can make Adai in the normal way.
Good for diabetics.
