  • DIABETIC RECIPE--2-- THAVALAI ADAI.

    For th benefit of those who are having sugar problems,I give below a recipe for THAVALAI ADAI. Since this requires no onion or garlic,orthodox and vaidic brahmins can enjoy this dish.Hope this will be tried by some.

    THAVALAI ADAI

    INGREDIENTS

    Boiled rice 1 cup
    Raw rice(Hand pounded) 1 cup
    Channa dhal 1 cup
    Menthi seeds 1 tbs
    Red chillies 10
    Black pepper 1 tsp
    Jeera 1 tsp
    Curry leaves 1 bunch
    Drumstick leaves, leaves only, 1 cup
    Mustard 1 tsp for frying
    oil as required

    method

    Mix all rice types with channa dhal and menthi seeds for 3 hours.
    Mix to this chillies,jeera and pepper and grind together . add salt in the end.
    After grinding,add curry leaves and drumstick leaves .
    Sputter mustard in a tsp of oil and add to the batter and mix.
    Fry in a non stick pan with a little oil,thicker than dosa and in smaller size covering with a lid.
    Serve with onion chutney,or with Milagai podi if you do not want onion.
    P.S.
    You can use Mulaikkeerai instead of drumstick leaves too.You can add plenty of dhania leaves and pudina leaves also if you like.
    If no objection to use of onions,add lot of onion and grated vegetables too.
