Ayodhya Kaanda - Sarga 25
In this Sarga, the reluctant Kousalyā gives her blessings to the determined Rāma, who is set to leave for the Vana.
She invokes gods and all powers to protect him during his stay in the Vana. She propitiates all the dangerous elements of nature, so that they would not harm Rāma. She hopes that his virtues and his steadfast adherence to Dharma will be a natural protection for him always.
She gets a Brāhmaṇa to perform a Hōma for the welfare of Rāma. And finally, she gives kisses and hugs before bidding farewell to him. Rāma, then, leaves for the residence of Seetā.
2.25.1 ஸாவநீய தமாயாஸமுபஸ்ப்ருஸ்ய ஜலம் ஸுசி: ।
சகார மாதா ராமஸ்ய மங்கலாநி மநஸ்விநீ ॥
sāvanīya tamāyāsamupaspṛṡya jalaṃ ṡuciḥ ।
cakāra mātā rāmasya maṅgalāni manasvinī ॥
Setting aside her grief determinedly
and purifying herself by touching water,
Rāma’s mother whole heartedly
invoked blessings on him:
2.25.2 ந ஸக்யஸே வாரயிதும் கச்சேதாநீம் ரகூத்தம ।
ஸீக்ரம் ச விநிவர்தஸ்வ வர்தஸ்வ ச ஸதாம் க்ரமே ॥
na ṡakyasē vārayituṃ gacchēdānīṃ raghūttama ।
ṡīghraṃ ca vinivartasva vartasva ca satāṃ kramē ॥
O best among the descendants of Raghu!
I do not seem to be able to dissuade you.
Hence may leave now, but come back very soon.
Follow the footsteps of noble men.
2.25.3 யம் பாலயஸி தர்மம் த்வம் த்ருத்யா ச நியமேந ச ।
ஸ வை ராகவஸார்தூல! தர்மஸ்த்வாமபிரக்ஷது ॥
yaṃ pālayasi dharmaṃ tvaṃ dhṛtyā ca niyamēna ca ।
sa vai rāghavaṡārdūla! dharmastvāmabhirakṣatu ॥
O tiger among the descendants of Raghu!
May the Dharma, which you are protecting
with pluck and discipline, protect you!
2.25.4 யேப்ய: ப்ரணமஸே புத்ர! சைத்யேஷ்வாயதநேஷு ச ।
தே ச த்வாமபிரக்ஷந்து வநே ஸஹ மஹர்ஷிபி: ॥
yēbhyaḥ praṇamasē putra! caityēṣvāyatanēṣu ca ।
tē ca tvāmabhirakṣantu vanē saha maharṣibhiḥ ॥
My son! May the gods to whom you pray
in the temples and other sacred places,
along with the Maharshis, protect you in the Vana!
2.25.5 யாநி தத்தாநி தேऽஸ்த்ராணி விஸ்வாமித்ரேண தீமதா ।
தாநி த்வாமபிரக்ஷந்து குணைஸ்ஸமுதிதம் ஸதா ॥
yāni dattāni tē'strāṇi viṡvāmitrēṇa dhīmatā ।
tāni tvāmabhirakṣantu guṇaissamuditaṃ sadā ॥
May the Astras given to you by the
magnificent Viṡwāmitra guard you always,
O mountain of virtues!
2.25.6 பித்ருஸுஸ்ரூஷயா புத்ர! மாத்ருஸுஸ்ரூஷயா ததா ।
ஸத்யேந ச மஹாபாஹோ! சிரம் ஜீவாபிரக்ஷித: ॥
pitṛṡuṡrūṣayā putra! mātṛṡuṡrūṣayā tathā ।
satyēna ca mahābāhō! ciraṃ jīvābhirakṣitaḥ ॥
My son! O mighty armed one!
May you have a long life, protected
by your adherence to truth and
your unwavering service to mother and father!
2.25.7-8a ஸமித்குஸ பவித்ராணி வேத்யஸ்சாயதநாநி ச ।
ஸ்தண்டிலாநி விசித்ராணி ஸைலா வ்ருக்ஷா: க்ஷுபா ஹ்ரதா: ।
பதங்கா: பந்நகாஸ்ஸிம்ஹாஸ்த்வாம் ரக்ஷந்து நரோத்தம ॥
samitkuṡa pavitrāṇi vēdyaṡcāyatanāni ca ।
sthaṇḍilāni vicitrāṇi ṡailā vṛkṣāḥ kṣupā hradāḥ ।
pataṅgāḥ pannagāssiṃhāstvāṃ rakṣantu narōttama ॥
O best among men! May the Samidhas,
the Darbha grass, and the rings made thereof,
the fire altars and the temples,
and the various sanctified grounds,
the trees, plants, lakes, birds, and serpents protect you!
2.25.8b-9 ஸ்வஸ்திஸாத்யாஸ்ச விஸ்வே ச மருதஸ்ச மஹர்ஷய: ।
ஸ்வஸ்தி தாதா விதாதா ச ஸ்வஸ்தி பூஷா பகோऽர்யமா ।
லோகபாலாஸ்ச தே ஸர்வே வாஸவப்ரமுகாஸ்ததா ॥
svastisādhyāṡca viṡvē ca marutaṡca maharṣayaḥ ।
svasti dhātā vidhātā ca svasti pūṣā bhagō'ryamā ।
lōkapālāṡca tē sarvē vāsavapramukhāstathā ॥
May everything good be done to you by everyone,
the Sādhyas, the Viṡwadēvas, the Maruts,
Maharshis, Dhātā, Vidhātā,
the suns Poosha, Bhaga, Āryama,
Indra and the lords of the worlds!
2.25.10 ருதவஸ்சைவ பக்ஷாஸ்ச மாஸா ஸ்ஸம்வத்ஸரா: க்ஷபா: ॥
திநாநி ச முஹூர்தாஸ்ச ஸ்வஸ்தி குர்வந்து தே ஸதா ।
ṛtavaṡcaiva pakṣāṡca māsā ssaṃvatsarāḥ kṣapāḥ ॥
dināni ca muhūrtāṡca svasti kurvantu tē sadā ।
May the seasons, the fortnights, the months and years,
the nights, the days, and each and every part of the days,
secure your wellbeing always!
2.25.11 ஸ்ம்ருதிர்த்ருதிஸ்ச தர்மஸ்ச பாது த்வாம் புத்ர! ஸர்வத: ॥
ஸ்கந்தஸ்ச பகவாந்தேவ ஸ்ஸோமஸ்ச ஸ ப்ருஹஸ்பதி: ।
ஸப்தர்ஷயோ நாரதஸ்ச தே த்வாம் ரக்ஷந்து ஸர்வத: ॥
smṛtirdhṛtiṡca dharmaṡca pātu tvāṃ putra! sarvataḥ ॥
skandaṡca bhagavāndēva ssōmaṡca sa bṛhaspatiḥ ।
saptarṣayō nāradaṡca tē tvāṃ rakṣantu sarvataḥ ॥
May your alertness, your pluck and your adherence to Dharma,
my son, protect you everywhere!
May the Bhagawan and Dēva Skanda and
may the moon, Bṛhaspati, the seven Ṛshis and Nārada
protect you everywhere! In the days of mobile phones and internet, it is easy to be in touch with your near and dear who are away from home.
But, until the 21st century, life was very different. Anyone who was away from home for few years or months or weeks or even days, was not only out of sight but also out of reach.
Thos who were concerned about their wellbeing had no option but to keep their faith in gods and good fortune.
It is very unnerving to let the near and dear go away, not to be seen and heard for an extended period of time, but that was the hard reality.
However, there is a certain beauty to that life style, in which people submitted themselves to destiny and transferred the responsibility of their loved ones to it.
2.25.12 யாஸ்சாபி ஸர்வதஸ்ஸித்தா திஸஸ்ச ஸதிகீஸ்வரா: ।
ஸ்துதா மயா வநே தஸ்மிந்பாந்து த்வாம் புத்ர! நித்யஸ: ॥
yāṡcāpi sarvatassidhdā diṡaṡca sadigīṡvarāḥ ।
stutā mayā vanē tasminpāntu tvāṃ putra! nityaṡaḥ ॥
May the exalted cardinals and their lords to whom I pray,
protect you, my son, always and everywhere, in the Vana!
2.25.14 ஸைலாஸ்ஸர்வே ஸமுத்ராஸ்ச ராஜா வருண ஏவ ச ।
த்யௌரந்தரிக்ஷம் ப்ருதிவீ நத்யஸ்ஸர்வாஸ்ததைவ ச ॥
நக்ஷத்ராணி ச ஸர்வாணி க்ரஹாஸ்ச ஸஹதேவதா: ।
அஹோராத்ரே ததா ஸந்த்யே பாந்து த்வாம் வநமாஸ்ரிதம் ॥
ṡailāssarvē samudrāṡca rājā varuṇa ēva ca ।
dyaurantarikṣaṃ pṛthivī nadyassarvāstathaiva ca ॥
nakṣatrāṇi ca sarvāṇi grahāṡca sahadēvatāḥ ।
ahōrātrē tathā sandhyē pāntu tvāṃ vanamāṡritam ॥
May all the mountains and the seas,
lord Varuna, the heaven, the sky and all the stars,
the planets along with their presiding deities,
the earth and all its rivers,
the day and night and the dawn and dusk
protect you as you dwell in the Vana.
2.25.15 ருதவஸ்சைவ ஷட்புண்யா மாஸாஸ்ஸம்வத்ஸராஸ்ததா ।
கலாஸ்ச காஷ்டாஸ்ச ததா தவ ஸர்ம திஸந்து தே ॥
ṛtavaṡcaiva ṣaṭpuṇyā māsāssaṃvatsarāstathā ।
kalāṡca kāṣṭhāṡca tathā tava ṡarma diṡantu tē ॥
The six auspicious seasons, the months and the years,
in their every Kalās and Kāshtas, be comfortable to you!
Kalās and Kāshtas are minute fractions of time,
like milliseconds and nanoseconds.
2.25.16 மஹாவநே விசரதோ முநிவேஷஸ்ய தீமத: ।
தவாதித்யாஸ்ச தைத்யாஸ்ச பவந்து ஸுகதாஸ்ஸதா ॥
mahāvanē vicaratō munivēṣasya dhīmataḥ ।
tavādityāṡca daityāṡca bhavantu sukhadāssadā ॥
May the sons of Aditi and Diti, O wise one,
bless you with comfort, as you tread
in the great Vanas in the attire of a Muni!
2.25.17 ராக்ஷஸாநாம் பிஸாசாநாம் ரௌத்ராணாம் க்ரூரகர்மணாம் ।
க்ரவ்யாதாநாம் ச ஸர்வேஷாம் மா பூத்புத்ரக! தே பயம் ॥
rākṣasānāṃ piṡācānāṃ raudrāṇāṃ krūrakarmaṇām ।
kravyādānāṃ ca sarvēṣāṃ mā bhūtputraka! tē bhayam ॥
May you be free, my child, from the fear of
fierce demons and ghouls, and all the carrion-eaters.
2.25.18 ப்லவகா வ்ருஸ்சிகா தம்ஸாமஸகாஸ்சைவ காநநே ।
ஸரீஸ்ருபாஸ்ச கீடாஸ்ச மா பூவந் கஹநே தவ ॥
plavagā vṛṡcikā daṃṡāmaṡakāṡcaiva kānanē ।
sarīsṛpāṡca kīṭāṡca mā bhūvan gahanē tava ॥
May no harm come to you in the dense forest
from monkeys, scorpions, gnats, mosquitoes, reptiles and insects!
2.25.19 மஹாத்விபாஸ்ச ஸிம்ஹாஸ்ச வ்யாக்ரா ருக்ஷாஸ்ச தம்ஷ்ட்ரிண: ।
மஹிஷா ஸ்ஸ்ருங்கிணோ ரௌத்ரா ந தே த்ருஹ்யந்து புத்ரக! ॥
mahādvipāṡca siṃhāṡca vyāghrā ṛkṣāṡca daṃṣṭriṇaḥ ।
mahiṣā ṡṡṛṅgiṇō raudrā na tē druhyantu putraka! ॥
May you not be troubled by the gigantic elephants,
the fanged lions, tigers, bears and
the ferocious horned buffalos!
2.25.20 ந்ருமாம்ஸபோஜநா ரௌத்ரா யே சாந்யே ஸத்வஜாதய: ।
மா ச த்வாம் ஹிம்ஸிஷு: புத்ர! மயா ஸம்பூஜிதாஸ்த்விஹ ॥
nṛmāṃsabhōjanā raudrā yē cānyē satvajātayaḥ ।
mā ca tvāṃ hiṃsiṣuḥ putra! mayā saṃpūjitāstviha ॥
May the fearsome breeds of animals
which subsist on human flesh
not trouble you, my son,
for they are propitiated by me here!
2.25.21 ஆகமாஸ்தே ஸிவாஸ்ஸந்து ஸித்யந்து ச பராக்ரமா: ।
ஸர்வஸம்பத்தயே ராம! ஸ்வஸ்திமாந்கச்ச புத்ரக ॥
āgamāstē ṡivāssantu sidhyantu ca parākramāḥ ।
sarvasampattayē rāma! svastimāngaccha putraka ॥
O Rāma, may your path in the Vana be safe for you!
May your enterprises bear fruit!
May all be well and may you accomplish all, my son, as you go!
2.25.22 ஸ்வஸ்தி தே ऽஸ்த்வந்தரிக்ஷேப்ய: பார்திவேப்ய: புந: புந: ।
ஸர்வேப்யஸ்சைவ தேவேப்யோ யே ச வை பரிபந்திந: ॥
svasti tē 'stvantarikṣēbhyaḥ pārthivēbhyaḥ punaḥ punaḥ ।
sarvēbhyaṡcaiva dēvēbhyō yē ca vai paripanthinaḥ ॥
May you be safe from all the powers that
lurk in the air and on the earth, that are adverse to you!
2.25.23 குருஸ்ஸோமஸ்ச ஸூர்யஸ்ச தநதோऽத யமஸ்ததா ।
பாந்து த்வாமர்சிதா ராம! தண்டகாரண்யவாஸிநம் ॥
gurussōmaṡca sūryaṡca dhanadō'tha yamastathā ।
pāntu tvāmarcitā rāma! daṇḍakāraṇyavāsinam ॥
May Bṛhaspati, Moon, Sun, Kubēra and Yama
be worshipped and protect you, O Rāma,
as you dwell in the Daṇḍaka forest.
2.25.24 அக்நிர்வாயுஸ்ததா தூமோ மந்த்ராஸ்சர்ஷிமுகாச்ச்யுதா: ।
உபஸ்பர்ஸநகாலே து பாந்து த்வாம் ரகுநந்தந ! ॥
agnirvāyustathā dhūmō mantrāṡcarṣimukhāccyutāḥ ।
upasparṡanakālē tu pāntu tvāṃ raghunandana ! ॥
May Agni and Vāyu and smoke,
and the Mantras uttered by Ṛshis
protect you when you take bath,
O delight of the Raghu dynasty!
2.25.25 ஸர்வலோகப்ரபுர்ப்ரஹ்மா பூதபர்தா ததர்ஷய: ।
யே ச ஸேஷாஸ்ஸுராஸ்தே த்வாம் ரக்ஷந்து வநவாஸிநம் ॥
sarvalōkaprabhurbrahmā bhūtabhartā tatharṣayaḥ ।
yē ca ṡēṣāssurāstē tvāṃ rakṣantu vanavāsinam ॥
May the lord of the worlds (Ṡiva),
the prop of all beings (Vishṇu) and Brahma,
and the Ṛshis and every other Dēva
guard over you while you live in the Vana!
2.25.26 இதி மால்யைஸ்ஸுரகணாந்கந்தைஸ்சாபி யஸஸ்விநீ ।
ஸ்துதிபிஸ்சாநுரூபாபிராநர்சாऽயதலோசநா ॥
iti mālyaissuragaṇāngandhaiṡcāpi yaṡasvinī ।
stutibhiṡcānurūpābhirānarcā'yatalōcanā ॥
The woman of wide eyes and flawless renown,
thus invoked and exalted the Dēvas,
doing Pooja to them with garlands and fragrances.
2.25.27 ஜ்வலநம் ஸமுபாதாய ப்ராஹ்மணேந மஹாத்மநா ।
ஹாவயாமாஸ விதிநா ராமமங்கலகாரணாத் ॥
jvalanaṃ samupādāya brāhmaṇēna mahātmanā ।
hāvayāmāsa vidhinā rāmamaṅgalakāraṇāt ॥
After arranging a sacred fire, she had a Hōma performed
in the customary manner by a Mahātma Brāhmaṇa
for the welfare of Rāma.
2.25.28 க்ருதம் ஸ்வேதாநி மால்யாநி ஸமிதஸ்ஸ்வேதஸர்ஷபாந் ।
உபஸம்பாதயாமாஸ கௌஸல்யா பரமாங்கநா ॥
ghṛtaṃ ṡvētāni mālyāni samidhaṡṡvētasarṣapān ।
upasampādayāmāsa kausalyā paramāṅganā ॥
Kousalyā, the best among women, arranged
Ghee, garlands of white flowers, Samidhas,
white mustard seed for the Hōma.
2.25.29 உபாத்யாய ஸ்ஸவிதிநா ஹுத்வா ஸாந்திமநாமயம் ।
ஹுதஹவ்யாவஸேஷேண பாஹ்யம் பலிமகல்பயத் ॥
upādhyāya ssavidhinā hutvā ṡāntimanāmayam ।
hutahavyāvaṡēṣēṇa bāhyaṃ balimakalpayat ॥
The Brāhmaṇa performed Ṡānti Hōma strictly as per the
procedures laid in the Ṡastras
with no omissions or commissions.
He used the remnants of Havya as oblation
outside of the Hōma Kuṇḍa.
2.25.30 மது தத்யக்ஷதக்ருதை: ஸ்வஸ்திவாச்யத்விஜாம்ஸ்தத: ।
வாசயாமாஸ ராமஸ்ய வநேஸ்வஸ்த்யயநக்ரியா: ॥
madhu dadhyakṣataghṛtaiḥ svastivācyadvijāṃstataḥ ।
vācayāmāsa rāmasya vanēsvastyayanakriyāḥ ॥
She had the Brāhmaṇas pronounce benedictions,
with honey, curds, rice and Ghee.
Then she had them recite Mantras for
the well being of Rāma in the Vana.
2.25.31 ததஸ்தஸ்மை த்விஜேந்த்ராய ராமமாதா யஸஸ்விநீ ।
தக்ஷிணாம் ப்ரததௌ காம்யாம் ராகவம் சேதமப்ரவீத் ॥
tatastasmai dvijēndrāya rāmamātā yaṡasvinī ।
dakṣiṇāṃ pradadau kāmyāṃ rāghavaṃ cēdamabravīt ॥
Then the mother of Rāma, of spotless renown,
honored the Brāhmaṇas with as much
remuneration as they asked for.
Then she said to Rāghava:
2.25.32 யந்மங்கலம் ஸஹஸ்ராக்ஷே ஸர்வதேவநமஸ்க்ருதே ।
வ்ருத்ரநாஸே ஸமபவத்தத்தே பவது மங்கலம் ॥
yanmaṅgalaṃ sahasrākṣē sarvadēvanamaskṛtē ।
vṛtranāṡē samabhavattattē bhavatu maṅgalam ॥
May the same good fortune be bestowed on you,
that was bestowed on the Thousand-eyed,
the one who is honored by all the gods,
at the time of destroying Vṛtra.
2.25.33 யந்மங்கலம் ஸுபர்ணஸ்ய விநதாऽகல்பயத்புரா ।
அம்ருதம் ப்ரார்தயாநஸ்ய தத்தே பவது மங்கலம் ॥
yanmaṅgalaṃ suparṇasya vinatā'kalpayatpurā ।
amṛtaṃ prārthayānasya tattē bhavatu maṅgalam ॥
May the same good fortune be bestowed on you,
that was bestowed by Vinata on Garuda
when he was seeking Amṛta.
2.25.34 அம்ருதோத்பாதநே தைத்யாந் க்நதோ வஜ்ரதரஸ்ய யத் ।
அதிதிர்மங்கலம் ப்ராதாத்தத்தே பவது மங்கலம் ॥
amṛtōtpādanē daityān ghnatō vajradharasya yat ।
aditirmaṅgalaṃ prādāttattē bhavatu maṅgalam ॥
May the same good fortune be bestowed on you,
that was bestowed by Aditi on Indra,
as he was decimating the Daityas
at the time of extracting Amṛta.
2.25.35 த்ரீந்விக்ரமாந்ப்ரக்ரமதோ விஷ்ணோரமிததேஜஸ: ।
யதாஸீந்மங்கலம் ராம! தத்தே பவது மங்கலம் ॥
trīnvikramānprakramatō viṣṇōramitatējasaḥ ।
yadāsīnmaṅgalaṃ rāma! tattē bhavatu maṅgalam ॥
May the same good fortune be bestowed on you,
that was bestowed on the supremely radiant Vishṇu
at the time of measuring the world in three steps.
2.25.36 ருதவஸ்ஸாகரா த்வீபா வேதா லோகா திஸஸ்ச தே ।
மங்கலாநி மஹாபாஹோ! திஸந்து ஸுபமங்கலா: ॥
ṛtavassāgarā dvīpā vēdā lōkā diṡaṡca tē ।
maṅgalāni mahābāhō! diṡantu ṡubhamaṅgalāḥ ॥
May the prosperous and auspicious
seasons, oceans, islands, Vēdas and worlds and cardinals,
O mighty armed, bestow good fortune on you!
2.25.37-38 இதி புத்ரஸ்ய ஸேஷாம்ஸ்ச க்ருத்வா ஸிரஸி பாமிநீ ।
கந்தைஸ்சாபி ஸமாலப்ய ராமமாயதலோசநா ॥
ஓஷதீம் சாபி ஸித்தார்தாம் விஸல்யகரணீம் ஸுபாம் ।
சகார ரக்ஷாம் கௌஸல்யா மந்த்ரைரபிஜஜாப ச ॥
iti putrasya ṡēṣāṃṡca kṛtvā ṡirasi bhāminī ।
gandhaiṡcāpi samālabhya rāmamāyatalōcanā ॥
ōṣadhīṃ cāpi siddhārthāṃ viṡalyakaraṇīṃ ṡubhām ।
cakāra rakṣāṃ kausalyā mantrairabhijajāpa ca ॥
Then that wide eyed lady kept Akshatas on her son’s head
and applied sandal paste on his body.
Next, Kousalyā tied a talisman of proven powers,
which was also capable of removing impurities from the body,
as a protection and muttered incantations over it.
2.25.39 உவாசாதிப்ரஹ்ருஷ்டேவ ஸா து:கவஸவர்திநீ ।
வாங்க்மாத்ரேண ந பாவேந வாசாऽஸம்ஸஜ்ஜமாநயா ॥
uvācātiprahṛṣṭēva sā duḥkhavaṡavartinī ।
vāṅgmātrēṇa na bhāvēna vācā'saṃsajjamānayā ॥
Deeply engulfed by sadness,
but pretending to be cheerful,
she said these words in a faltering voice,
that sure came only out of her lips,
but not out of her heart.
2.25.40 ஆநம்ய மூர்த்நி சாக்ராய பரிஷ்வஜ்ய யஸஸ்விநீ ।
அவதத்புத்ர ஸித்தார்தோ கச்ச ராம! யதாஸுகம் ॥
ānamya mūrdhni cāghrāya pariṣvajya yaṡasvinī ।
avadatputra siddhārthō gaccha rāma! yathāsukham ॥
After smelling his head and giving him a hug,
that woman of spotless renown said:
“May you leave now in all comfort
to fulfill your undertaking!”
2.25.41 அரோகம் ஸர்வஸித்தார்தமயோத்யாம் புநராகதம் ।
பஸ்யாமி த்வாம் ஸுகம் வத்ஸ! ஸுஸ்திதம் ராஜவர்த்மநி ॥
arōgaṃ sarvasiddhārthamayōdhyāṃ punarāgatam ।
paṡyāmi tvāṃ sukhaṃ vatsa! susthitaṃ rājavartmani ॥
My dear! I shall see you back in Ayōdhyā in good health
with your purpose accomplished and
comfortably established in the kingdom.
2.25.42 ப்ரணஷ்டது:கஸங்கல்பா ஹர்ஷவித்யோதிதாநநா ।
த்ரக்ஷ்யாமி த்வாம் வநாத்ப்ராப்தம் பூர்ணசந்த்ரமிவோதிதம் ॥
praṇaṣṭaduḥkhasaṅkalpā harṣavidyōtitānanā ।
drakṣyāmi tvāṃ vanātprāptaṃ pūrṇacandramivōditam ॥
Freed from all my grief,
and with my face sparkling in joy,
I shall behold you returning from the Vana
like the rising full moon.
2.25.43 பத்ராஸநகதம் ராம! வநவாஸாதிஹாகதம் ।
த்ரக்ஷ்யாமி ச புநஸ்த்வாம் து தீர்ணவந்தம் பிதுர்வச: ॥
bhadrāsanagataṃ rāma! vanavāsādihāgatam ।
drakṣyāmi ca punastvāṃ tu tīrṇavantaṃ piturvacaḥ ॥
O Rāma! I shall see you again,
occupying the auspicious chair of state,
after returning from your stay in the Vana and
thus redeeming the word of your father!
2.25.44 மங்கலைருபஸம்பந்நோ வநவாஸாதிஹாகத: ।
வத்வா மம ச நித்யம் த்வம் காமாந்ஸம்வர்த யாஹி போ:! ॥
maṅgalairupasaṃpannō vanavāsādihāgataḥ ।
vadhvā mama ca nityaṃ tvaṃ kāmānsaṃvardha yāhi bhōḥ! ॥
O Rāma, may you leave now, but
return from your stay in the Vana
with everything boding well for you,
to bestow on me and the daughter-in-law
everything that we would wish for!
2.25.45 மயாऽர்சிதா தேவகணாஸ்ஸிவாதயோ
மஹர்ஷயோ பூதமஹாஸுரோரகா: ।
அபிப்ரயாதஸ்ய வநம் சிராய தே
ஹிதாநி காங்க்ஷந்து திஸஸ்ச ராகவ ! ॥
mayā'rcitā dēvagaṇāṡṡivādayō
maharṣayō bhūtamahāsurōragāḥ ।
abhiprayātasya vanaṃ cirāya tē
hitāni kāṅkṣantu diṡaṡca rāghava ! ॥
O Rāghava! May the hosts of the gods, Ṡiva and others,
the Maharshis, the mighty Asuras and Uragas
and the four cardinals, who have received my worship,
wish you well for long,
as you set out for your stay in the Vana!
2.25.46 இதீவ ஸாऽஸ்ருப்ரதிபூர்ணலோசநா
ஸமாப்ய ச ஸ்வஸ்த்யயநம் யதாவிதி ।
ப்ரதக்ஷிணம் சைவ சகார ராகவம்
புந: புநஸ்சாபி நிபீட்ய ஸஸ்வஜே ॥
itīva sā'ṡrupratipūrṇalōcanā
samāpya ca svastyayanaṃ yathāvidhi ।
pradakṣiṇaṃ caiva cakāra rāghavaṃ
punaḥ punaṡcāpi nipīḍya sasvajē ॥
Her eyes brimming with tears,
she finished the pronouncing of blessings
in a customary manner.
Then she circumambulated Rāghava and
gave him her tight embrace repeatedly.
2.25.47 ததா து தேவ்யா ஸ க்ருதப்ரதக்ஷிணோ
நிபீட்ய மாதுஸ்சரணௌ புந: புந: ।
ஜகாம ஸீதாநிலயம் மஹாயஸா
ஸ்ஸ ராகவ: ப்ரஜ்வலித ஸ்ஸ்வயா ஸ்ரியா ॥
tathā tu dēvyā sa kṛtapradakṣiṇō
nipīḍya mātuṡcaraṇau punaḥ punaḥ ।
jagāma sītānilayaṃ mahāyaṡā
ssa rāghavaḥ prajvalita ssvayā ṡriyā ॥
After the queen circumambulated him,
that man of great repute
touched her feet repeatedly and then
left for the residence of Seetā,
glowing with the splendor that
he was natively blessed with!
இத்யார்ஷே ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே வால்மீகீயே ஆதிகாவ்யே
அயோத்யாகாண்டே பஞ்சவிம்ஸஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīyē ādikāvyē
ayōdhyākāṇḍē pańcaviṃṡassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes the twenty fifth Sarga
in Ayōdhyā Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Vālmeeki.
