  • WAYS TO ADD FLAX SEED TO YOUR DAILY DIET

    Dear friends,
We know that flax seeds are full of Omega 3 fatty acids that are good for your health. Sprinkling ground flaxseed into a smoothie or bowl of cereal will turn your breakfast into a gold mine of omega-3 fatty acids; just two tablespoons contains more than 100% of your recommended daily intake for those heart-healthy fats. Flaxseed, which has a nutty flavor, also is rich in fiber and lignan, an antioxidant that's been shown to protect against breast cancer.
Whole flaxseeds will pass through your body without being digested, so be sure to buy them ground or grind them yourself with a coffee or spice grinder either raw or after dry roasting them.
Let us see in how many different ways we can use them in our diet.

One of the best ways to consume flaxseeds is to grind them into a fine powder. Add one tablespoon of this powder to a glass of warm water and drink this mixture every morning on an empty stomach.

Mix all these ingredients, refrigerate for one hour and serve chilled. ))

    #8: Rotis or parathas,subjis

In case you are not too happy eating the seeds in their roasted form or as garnishing ingredients of your daily meals, add them to rotis or parathas or subjis to reap their health benefits. Add flaxseed powder to the flour and prepare rotis with it.

    #9: Chikki

We all love to eat chikkis, but here’s a way to make them more nutritious and healthy. Add flaxseeds in powdered or roasted form while preparing chikkis (groundnut, sesame or coconut) to enhance its taste and nutritional content.

    #10: Kanji

Another way to add flaxseeds to your diet is to add them to kanji such as rice/rye/barley. It not only improves the overall fibre content but also renders numerous health benefits and protects from disease. You should consume this drink in the morning and when warm for good results.

Note: As any other food, excess consumption of flaxseeds can be bad for your health. According to experts, not more than 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds (which give you approximately 4 g of proteins) should be consumed on a daily basis.
