    Healthy recipe – காராமணி or black eyed peas cutlets

    Ingredients

    Black eyed peas (chawli) – 1 cup
    Gram flour (besan) – Ό cup
    Onion – 1
    Green chillies – 3
    Curry leaves – 8
    Salt to taste

    Method

    Soak the peas overnight.
    Finely chop onion and green chillies.
    Tear the curry leaves into bits.
    Drain the peas and coarsely grind them.
    And cut onions, chillies and curry leaves.
    Now add salt and besan.
    Mix well.
    Heat a heavy base non-stick pan.
    Grease it with little oil.
    Make cutlets, flatten them and place them in the pan.
    Cover the pan, shallow fry the cutlets till they are golden brown.
    Turn them over and cook the other side.
    Serve hot
