    Ayodhya Kaanda - Sarga 102

    Ayodhya Kaanda - Sarga 102
In this Sarga, Rāma collapses hearing the news of his father passing away, from Bharata. The brothers and Seeta gather around him and sprinkle water on him to help him regain his senses.

Rāma bemoans the loss of his father, fondly recalling his father’s affection for him. Urged by everyone, he then proceeds to river Mandākini to offer water libations to his father.

Returning from the river to the cottage, he cries bitterly and loudly. His brothers and Seetā also cry along with him. Those wails echoed from the mountain and were heard by Bharata’s army.

The army guesses that the brothers must have met each other and must be crying over the demise of their father. They dash, without any delay, in every vehicle and mount and on foot to see Rāma. The animals of the wild get frightened with the movement of that large army and run in all directions.

Everyone sees Rāma and Rāma embraces all of them and receives each one of them fittingly.
