Clarification sought

Hello Swamin,

One of the friends here in the US has passed away. He didn't have a chance to do upanayanam for his son. Can upanayanam be done before cremating the father? There are lots of comments and views on this from local vadhyars. Seeking you expert opinion.

Sri:
Not Possible within 13 days. Can be done after that.
He has to give grass to a valid person to chant the (Veda) mantras
and activities without mantra can be done by him.
