Aranya Kaanda - Sarga 34 Continues
3.34.17 நைவ தேவீ ந கந்தர்வீ
ந யக்ஷீ ந ச கிந்நரீ ।
நைவம்ரூபா மயா நாரீ
த்ருஷ்டபூர்வா மஹீதலே ॥
naiva dēvī na gandharvī
na yakṣī na ca kinnarī ।
naivaṃrūpā mayā nārī
dṛṣṭapūrvā mahītalē ॥
I have never seen a woman of such beauty,
on the surface of the earth and even among
Dēvas, Gandharvas, Yakshas and Kinnaras.
3.34.18 யஸ்ய ஸீதா பவேத்பார்யா
யம் ச ஹ்ருஷ்டா பரிஷ்வஜேத் ।
அதிஜீவேத்ஸ ஸர்வேஷு
லோகேஷ்வபி புரந்தராத் ॥
yasya sītā bhavēdbhāryā
yaṃ ca hṛṣṭā pariṣvajēt ।
atijīvētsa sarvēṣu
lōkēṣvapi purandarāt ॥
He who has Seetā for wife and
whom she embraces with joy would have
the best life in all the worlds,
better than even that of Purandara.
3.34.19 ஸா ஸுஸீலா வபுஸ்ஸ்லாக்யா
ரூபேணாப்ரதிமா புவி ।
தவாநுரூபா பார்யா ஸ்யாத்
த்வம் ச தஸ்யாஸ்ததா பதி: ॥
sā suṡīlā vapuṡṡlāghyā
rūpēṇāpratimā bhuvi ।
tavānurūpā bhāryā syāt
tvaṃ ca tasyāstathā patiḥ ॥
She is virtuous, excels by the beauty of her body,
and has no equal in beauty on the earth.
She would be the perfect wife for you,
and similarly, you her husband.
3.34.20 தாம் து விஸ்தீர்ணஜகநாம்
பீநோத்துங்கபயோதராம் ।
பார்யார்தே ச தவாநேதும்
உத்யதாஹம் வராநநாம் ॥
விரூபிதாஸ்மி க்ரூரேண
லக்ஷ்மணேந மஹாபுஜ ।
tāṃ tu vistīrṇajaghanāṃ
pīnōttuṅgapayōdharām ।
bhāryārthē ca tavānētum
udyatāhaṃ varānanām ॥
virūpitāsmi krūrēṇa
lakṣmaṇēna mahābhuja ।
O you of the mighty arm!
When I tried to carry off that woman
of lovely face, large hips and
high and full breasts,
so that she could become your wife,
I was disfigured by the cruel Lakshmaṇa!
3.34.21 தாம் து த்ருஷ்ட்வாத்ய வைதேஹீம்
பூர்ணசந்த்ரநிபாநநாம் ।
மந்மதஸ்ய ஸராணாம் வை
த்வம் விதேயோ பவிஷ்யஸி ॥
tāṃ tu dṛṣṭvādya vaidēhīṃ
pūrṇacandranibhānanām ।
manmathasya ṡarāṇāṃ vai
tvaṃ vidhēyō bhaviṣyasi ॥
If you see Vaidēhi, whose face is
radiant like the full moon,
you will succumb right away
to the darts of Manmatha.
3.34.22 யதி தஸ்யாமபிப்ராயோ
பார்யார்தே தவ ஜாயதே ।
ஸீக்ரமுத்த்ரியதாம் பாதோ
ஜயார்தமிஹ தக்ஷிண: ॥
yadi tasyāmabhiprāyō
bhāryārthē tava jāyatē ।
ṡīghramuddhriyatāṃ pādō
jayārthamiha dakṣiṇaḥ ॥
If you feel like taking her as your wife,
put forth your right foot
without delay on the way to victory.
3.34.23 குரு ப்ரியம் ததா தேஷாம்
ரக்ஷஸாம் ராக்ஷஸேஸ்வர
வதாத்தஸ்ய ந்ருஸம்ஸஸ்ய
ராமஸ்யாஸ்ரமவாஸிந: ॥
kuru priyaṃ tathā tēṣāṃ
rakṣasāṃ rākṣasēṡvara
vadhāttasya nṛṡaṃsasya
rāmasyāṡramavāsinaḥ ॥
O lord of Rākshasas! Kill that
cruel Rāma who lives in the Āṡrama,
and propitiate those Rākshasas!
3.34.24 தம் ஸரைர்நிஸிதைர்ஹத்வா
லக்ஷ்மணம் ச மஹாரதம் ।
ஹதநாதாம் ஸுகம் ஸீதாம்
யதாவதுபபோக்ஷ்யஸி ॥
taṃ ṡarairniṡitairhatvā
lakṣmaṇaṃ ca mahāratham ।
hatanāthāṃ sukhaṃ sītāṃ
yathāvadupabhōkṣyasi ॥
Killing him with sharp arrows,
and also Lakshmaṇa, the great charioter,
you can enjoy Seetā,
who no more would have a husband,
happily as you wish!
3.34.25 ரோசதே யதி தே வாக்யம்
மமைதத்ராக்ஷஸேஸ்வர ।
க்ரியதாம் நிர்விஸங்கேந
வசநம் மம ராவண ॥
rōcatē yadi tē vākyaṃ
mamaitadrākṣasēṡvara ।
kriyatāṃ nirviṡaṅkēna
vacanaṃ mama rāvaṇa ॥
O Rāvaṇa! O lord of Rākshasas!
If you like these words of mine,
you shall follow my words
with no further hesitation!
3.34.26 விஜ்ஞாயேஹாத்மஸக்திம் ச
ஹ்ரியதாமபலா பலாத் ।
ஸீதா ஸர்வாநவத்யாங்கீ
பார்யார்தே ராக்ஷஸேஸ்வர ॥
vijñāyēhātmaṡaktiṃ ca
hriyatāmabalā balāt ।
sītā sarvānavadyāṅgī
bhāryārthē rākṣasēṡvara ॥
Now, O lord of Rākshasas,
you shall, with your superior strength,
forcefully abduct Seetā of flawless limbs
and make her your wife.
3.34.27 நிஸம்ய ராமேண ஸரைரஜிஹ்மகை:
ஹதாந் ஜநஸ்தாநகதாந்நிஸாசராந் ।
கரம் ச புத்த்வா நிஹதம் ச தூஷணம்
த்வமத்ர க்ருத்யம் ப்ரதிபத்துமர்ஹஸி ॥
niṡamya rāmēṇa ṡarairajihmagaiḥ
hatān janasthānagatānniṡācarān ।
kharaṃ ca buddhvā nihataṃ ca dūṣaṇaṃ
tvamatra kṛtyaṃ pratipattumarhasi ॥
Now that you have heard of the killing
of the Rākshasas residing in Janasthāna
by Rama with arrows that fly straight,
and know about the slaying of Khara and Dūshaṇa,
you shall decide what is to be done!
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
அரண்யகாண்டே சதுஸ்த்ரிம்ஸஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
araṇyakāṇḍē catustriṃṡassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes the thirty fourth Sarga
in Araṇya Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
