3.52.26 உத்தமாங்காச்ச்யுதா தஸ்யா:
புஷ்பவ்ருஷ்டிஸ்ஸமந்தத: ।
ஸீதாயா ஹ்ரிமமாணாயா:
பபாத தரணீதலே ॥
uttamāṅgāccyutā tasyāḥ
puṣpavṛṣṭissamantataḥ ।
sītāyā hrimamāṇāyāḥ
papāta dharaṇītalē ॥
As Seetā was being carried off,
the flowers on her head
fell all around on the earth.
3.52.27 ஸா து ராவணவேகேந
புஷ்பவ்ருஷ்டி: ஸமந்தத: ।
ஸமாதூதா தஸக்ரீவம்
புநரேவாப்யவர்தத ॥
sā tu rāvaṇavēgēna
puṣpavṛṣṭiḥ samantataḥ ।
samādhūtā daṡagrīvam
punarēvābhyavartata ॥
But those flowers that fell around
followed the ten-necked Rāvaṇa again,
as they were swept into the air as he zoomed fast.
3.52.28 அப்யவர்தத புஷ்பாணாம்
தாரா வைஸ்ரவணாநுஜம் ।
நக்ஷத்ரமாலா விமலா
மேரும் நகமிவோந்நதம் ॥
abhyavartata puṣpāṇām
dhārā vaiṡravaṇānujam ।
nakṣatramālā vimalā
mēruṃ nagamivōnnatam ॥
The stream of flowers followed the
younger brother of Vaiṡravaṇa,
like rows of impeccable stars
lining up to the towering Mēru mountain.
3.52.29 சரணாந்நூபுரம் ப்ரஷ்டம்
வைதேஹ்யா ரத்நபூஷிதம் ।
வித்யுந்மண்டலஸங்காஸம்
பபாத மதுரஸ்வநம் ॥
caraṇānnūpuraṃ bhraṣṭam
vaidēhyā ratnabhūṣitam ।
vidyunmaṇḍalasaṅkāṡam
papāta madhurasvanam ॥
The gem studded anklet of Vaidēhi,
which looked like the arc of lightning,
slipped from her foot and fell down,
making a pleasing sound.
3.52.30 தருப்ரவாலரக்தா ஸா
நீலாங்கம் ராக்ஷஸேஸ்வரம் ।
ப்ராஸோபயத வைதேஹீ
கஜம் கக்ஷ்யேவ காஞ்சநீ ॥
tarupravālaraktā sā
nīlāṅgaṃ rākṣasēṡvaram ।
prāṡōbhayata vaidēhī
gajaṃ kakṣyēva kāńcanī ॥
Vaidēhi with her complexion like
the reddish gold of tender shoots on trees,
lit up the black body of the king of Rākshasas
like a golden girth does an elephant.
3.52.31 தாம் மஹோல்காமிவாகாஸே
தீப்யமாநாம் ஸ்வதேஜஸா ।
ஜஹாராऽऽகாஸமாவிஸ்ய
ஸீதாம் வைஸ்ரவணாநுஜ: ॥
tāṃ mahōlkāmivākāṡē
dīpyamānāṃ svatējasā ।
jahārā''kāṡamāviṡya
sītāṃ vaiṡravaṇānujaḥ ॥
Rising into the sky, the
younger brother of Vaiṡravaṇa thus abducted
her, who with her inherent luster
shone like a comet in the sky.
3.52.32 தஸ்யாஸ்தாந்யக்நிவர்ணாநி
பூஷணாநி மஹீதலே ।
ஸகோஷாண்யவகீர்யந்த
க்ஷீணாஸ்தாரா இவாம்பராத் ॥
tasyāstānyagnivarṇāni
bhūṣaṇāni mahītalē ।
saghōṣāṇyavakīryanta
kṣīṇāstārā ivāmbarāt ॥
Her ornaments that shone like
the various shades of fire
fell tinkling to the ground,
scattered like stars that fell from the sky.
3.52.33 தஸ்யாஸ்ஸ்தநாந்தராத்ப்ரஷ்டோ
ஹாரஸ்தாராதிபத்யுதி: ।
வைதேஹ்யா நிபதந்பாதி
கங்கேவ ககநாச்ச்யுதா ॥
tasyāsstanāntarādbhraṣṭō
hārastārādhipadyutiḥ ।
vaidēhyā nipatanbhāti
gaṅgēva gaganāccyutā ॥
The necklace with the
soothing shine of the lord of stars,
that fell slipping between her breasts
looked like Gaṅgā falling from the sky.
3.52.34 உத்பாதவாதாபிஹதா
நாநாத்விஜகணாயுதா: ।
மாபைரிதி விதூதாக்ரா
வ்யாஜஹ்ருரிவ பாதபா: ॥
utpātavātābhihatā
nānādvijagaṇāyutāḥ ।
mābhairiti vidhūtāgrā
vyājahruriva pādapāḥ ॥
Swayed by the gush of the wind,
the trees with flocks of birds on them
shook their tops as if to tell (her),
‘do not be scared!’
3.52.35 நலிந்யோ த்வஸ்தகமலா:
த்ரஸ்தமீநஜலேசரா: ।
ஸகீமிவ கதோச்ச்வாஸாம்
அந்வஸோசந்த மைதிலீம் ॥
nalinyō dhvastakamalāḥ
trastamīnajalēcarāḥ ।
sakhīmiva gatōcchvāsām
anvaṡōcanta maithilīm ॥
The lotus ponds, their flowers wilted,
their fish and other aquatic creatures frightened,
grieved for Maithili, as if she were
their dear friend who had stopped breathing.
3.52.36 ஸமந்தாதபிஸம்பத்ய
ஸிம்ஹ வ்யாக்ர ம்ருக கஜா: ।
அந்வதாவம்ஸ்ததா ரோஷாத்
ஸீதாம் சாயாநுகாமிந: ॥

siṃha vyāghra mṛga gajāḥ ।
anvadhāvaṃstadā rōṣāt
sītāṃ chāyānugāminaḥ ॥
Irate lions, tigers, deer and elephants
from everywhere ran jostling together
following her shadow.

ஸ்ருங்கைருச்ச்ரிதபாஹுபி: ।
ஸீதாயாம் ஹ்ரியமாணாயாம்
விக்ரோஸந்தீவ பர்வதா: ॥
jalaprapātāsramukhāḥ
ṡṛṅgairucchritabāhubhiḥ ।

vikrōṡantīva parvatāḥ ॥
The mountains seemed to cry out
with their cascades for tears
and the crests for uplifted arms,
as Seetā was being carried off.

ப்ரதித்வஸ்தப்ரபஸ்ஸ்ரீமாந்

The effulgent sun felt miserable
seeing Vaidēhi being carried off;
his luster dimmed and his orb became pale.
3.52.39 நாஸ்தி தர்ம: குதஸ்ஸத்யம்
நார்ஜவம் நாந்ருஸம்ஸதா ।
யத்ர ராமஸ்ய வைதேஹீம்
பார்யாம் ஹரதி ராவண: ।
இதி ஸர்வாணி பூதாநி
கணஸ: பர்யதேவயந் ॥
nāsti dharmaḥ kutassatyam
nārjavaṃ nānṛṡaṃsatā ।
yatra rāmasya vaidēhīm
bhāryāṃ harati rāvaṇaḥ ।
iti sarvāṇi bhūtāni
gaṇaṡaḥ paryadēvayan ॥
‘There is neither Dharma, nor honesty,
nor kindness and what to speak of Truth,
when Rāvaṇa could abduct Vaidēhi, the wife of Rāma!’
lamented all creatures in unison.
3.52.40 வித்ரஸ்தகா தீநமுகா
ருருதுர்ம்ருகபோதகா: ।
உத்வீக்ஷ்யோத்வீக்ஷ்ய நயநை:
அஸ்ரபாதாவிலேக்ஷணா: ॥
vitrastakā dīnamukhā
rurudurmṛgapōtakāḥ ।
udvīkṣyōdvīkṣya nayanaiḥ
asrapātāvilēkṣaṇāḥ ॥
The fawns, terrified and woebegone, wept,
looking up repeatedly
with their eyes turbid with tears.
3.52.41 ஸுப்ரவேபிதகாத்ராஸ்ச
பபூவுர்வநதேவதா: ।
விக்ரோஸந்தீம் த்ருடம் ஸீதாம்
த்ருஷ்ட்வா து:கம் ததா கதாம் ॥
supravēpitagātrāṡca
babhūvurvanadēvatāḥ ।
vikrōṡantīṃ dṛḍhaṃ sītām
dṛṣṭvā duḥkhaṃ tathā gatām ॥
Seeing Seetā thus taken over by grief
and crying aloud bitterly, the
Dēvatas of the Vana trembled form head to toe.
3.52.42-43 தாம் து லக்ஷ்மண ராமேதி
க்ரோஸந்தீம் மதுரஸ்வரம் ।
அவேக்ஷமாணாம் பஹுஸோ
வைதேஹீம் தரணீதலம் ।
ஸ தாமாகுலகேஸாந்தாம்
விப்ரம்ருஷ்டவிஸேஷகாம் ।
ஜஹாராத்ம விநாஸாய
தஸக்ரீவோ மநஸ்ஸ்விநீம் ॥
tāṃ tu lakṣmaṇa rāmēti
krōṡantīṃ madhurasvaram ।
avēkṣamāṇāṃ bahuṡō
vaidēhīṃ dharaṇītalam ।
sa tāmākulakēṡāntām
vipramṛṣṭaviṡēṣakām ।
jahārātma vināṡāya
daṡagrīvō manassvinīm ॥
The ten-necked one, inviting his own destruction,
carried off Vaidēhi, the prideful one,
as she, with her hair disheveled,
and her Tilaka out of shape, cried
‘O Lakshmaṇa, O Rāma!’ in her sweet voice,
looking at the ground repeatedly.
3.52.44 ததஸ்து ஸா சாருததீ ஸுசிஸ்மிதா
விநாக்ருதா பந்துஜநேந மைதிலீ ।
அபஸ்யதீ ராகவலக்ஷ்மணாவுபௌ
விவர்ணவக்த்ராபயபாரபீடிதா ॥
tatastu sā cārudatī ṡucismitā
vinākṛtā bandhujanēna maithilī ।
apaṡyatī rāghavalakṣmaṇāvubhau
vivarṇavaktrābhayabhārapīḍitā ॥
Maithili’s face that usually sported
a pure white smile with lovely teeth
became pale, as she was weighed down by fear,
being separated from all her kith and kin
and with Rāghava and Lakshmaṇa being out of sight.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
அரண்யகாண்டே த்விபஞ்சாஸஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
araṇyakāṇḍē dvipańcāṡassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes the fifty second in Sarga
in Araṇya Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
