Maha vyatīpātam falls in the month of Margazhi and it is considered very auspicious for giving offerings and doing #tarpanam and poojas.If one offers food and things like bed on this day, they incur lots of punya palan. When the dhanams made on amavasya and poornima bestow punya palan on the giver 100 times, those things gifted on new year bestow punyam for 1000 times.
