1) இறந்தவருக்காக செய்யப்படும் இறுதி கர்மாக்களில்
இரண்டு சம்ஸ்காரங்கள் இருப்பதாக சாஸ்திரங்களில் கூரபட்டுள்ளன .
ஒன்று பித்ருமேத சம்ஸ்காரம் மற்றொண்டு பிரம்மமேத சம்ஸ்காரம். பித்ரு
மேத சம்ஸ்காரம் பிரம்மேத சம்ஸ்காரம் என்றால் என்ன?
பித்ருமேத சம்ஸ்காரம் யாருக்கு? பிரம்மமேத சம்ஸ்காரம் யாருக்கு?

2) கர்த்தாவை தீர்மானிப்பது எப்படி?

Sastras indicated teo kinds of final rites(samskarams) for the deceased. They are called pithrumedha and brahma medha samskarams. Medham means the process of joining.The act of joining the deceased persons with their fore fathers ( Pithrus) is called pithrumedham.

As stated by Bodhaayana Maharishi , the proper performance of pithrumedha samskarams (Apara karma)will help the deceased reach swargalokam.

BRAHMAMEDHA SAMSKARAMS: This means making the ieevan merge with the parabrahmam.. That is making the jeevan get Brahma saayujyam or birthless future. Aapasthamba maharishi states that the Brahmamedha samskaram is the method discovered by maharishis well versed with the essence of veda sastra teachings and revealed to human beings , for making the deceased get the birth less future of moksha.

This samskaram involves the recitation of some more Vedic manthras beyond those for pithru medha which will lead birth less future. For whom it can be done: Brahmamedha samskaaram can be performed for Brahma nishtars ( Gnanis- Self realised) Who have learnt the Upanishads and other vedhic scriptures with utmost clarity and sincerety from a sdhguru and who by their deepmeditative power realised the self.

This can be done to Brahmavithas who have vedas properly and who have shown us the swaroopam of "para Brahmam" other wise called "Brahmam". This is superior and equvalent to Aswamedham. This cannot be obtainable by everyone unless one has the ( divine blessings) Bhagya this can be attained.

Some of the Vedic pandits who wish to have Brahma Medham samskarams performed for them after their demise, instruct and teach their sons , how to conduct the ceremony.

WHO IS THE KARTHA hOW TO DETERMINE:

Our sastras have said that everyone in this world is entitled for Apara samskaram, for their well being had designated about 30 persons as eligible to perform the final rites. The desire of sastras is that everyone in this world should be able to get the samskarams performed properly.

Hence those who have no sons or daughters (children) should determine beforehand, as per the order listed below, the persons who should perform the karma after their death. It is important that one should determine the person who will do the karma as their heir apparent, by tranfering his wealth and properties to the kartha well in advance and it must be made known to others too.

One can make anybody his/her heir.There is no restric tion. But one must select a person after determinig the personal abilities , commitment and sicicerity for performing apara karmas and sradhas every year. If such a person is determined and made his, her heir becomes eligible to do all samskaras. He will be called ABHIMANA PUTHRAN.

If not determined before hand our sastras shows the way to find out who should do the samskarams. The order of precedence starts from the son and lists about 30 individuals who are eligible to perform the samskaras.

While selecting the kartha the order of precedence should be maintained and sequentially the elimination should happen before the kartha is selected. Only if the person first shown on the list does not exist or he is unable to perform the samskarams because of his health etc; the second person on the list can be selected and so on.

If the kartha is selected without following the order, the samskarams performed by that kartha is futile and it does not reach the Pithrus. Hence it is important for everyone to determine the kartha during the lifetime itself. If there is no heir at the time of death, the elders and other relatives in the family should examine, properly whether the kartha is authorised as per sastras.

It is important that the eligible kartha does the karma. It is the duty of all to make sure that we do the final rites and the subsequent ceremonies to the deceased so that the jeevan attain in peace in the heavenly abode.

பிறப்பினால் ப்ராம்மணன், ஸம்ஸ்காரங்களினால் த்விஜன் எனப்படுகிறான்.
விப்ர என்பது வித்யையால் உண்டாகிறது.
இம்மூன்றும் சேர்ந்தால் ச்ரோத்ரியன் எனப்படுகிறான்.
ப்ராஹ்மண, க்ஷத்ரிய, வைச்யர்கள் இரு ஜன்மத்தினர் என்று கூறப்படுவர். பிறப்பினால் ஒரு ஜன்மமும், 40 ஸம்ஸ்காரங்களால் மற்றொரு பிறவியும் எடுத்தலால் இவர்கள் இவ்வாறு அழைக்கப்படுகின்றனர்.
இவனே வேத சாஸ்த்ர அப்யாஸத்தால் விப்ரன் ஆகிறான்.
இம்மூன்pறும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்தால் அவன் ச்ரோத்ரியன் ஆகிறான். இந்த ச்ரோத்ரியனே மனிதர்களில் சிறந்தவன். அதிலும் அவன் ஆசையற்றவனனால் மிகமிகச் சிறந்தவன். தைத்ரீய உபநிஷத் கூறும் ஆனந்த ஸோபாநத்தில் இவனே முதற்படி. வைச்வதேவத்தில் "அகாமோபஹதாய ச்ரோத்ரியாய ஸ்வாஹா" என இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களுக்காக ஒரு ஹோமம் செய்யப்படுகிறது.

1. அனைத்து ப்ராஹ்மணர்களுக்கும் - பித்ருமேதம்
ச்ரோத்ரியனுக்கு - ப்ரஹ்மமேத ஸம்ஸ்காரம்.

2. கர்த்தாவை நாம் தீர்மானிப்பது என்பது பொருளற்றது.
கர்த்தாதான் தன் கர்மாவை தீர்மானம் செய்யவேண்டும்.

உதாரணமாக:
நடந்து செல்பவர், சைக்கிளில் செல்பவர், இருசக்கர வாகனம், 3 சக்கர வாகனம்,
லகு ரக நான்கு சக்கர வாகனம், கனரக நான்கு சக்கர வாகனம் என்று அனைவருக்கும்
உண்டான சாலை விதிகள் வகுத்துத்தரப்பட்டுள்ளன.
அவரவர் பயணத்தில் அவரவருக்கான விதியை அக்குறிப்பிட்ட நபர்
அறிந்து பயணிக்கவேண்டும், ஒரு வழிப்பாதையில் சென்று,
எனக்கு விதி தெரியாது என்ற வாதத்தை காவலர் ஏற்கமாட்டார்

அதுபோல், கர்த்தா தன் வாழ்க்கைப் பயணத்தில் தனக்கான விதிகளை
அறிந்து, தன் கடமைகளைச் சரிவரச் செய்யவேண்டும்.

அடுத்தடுத்த க்ரமத்தில் உள்ள கர்த்தா யார் என்ற பட்டியல்
புத்ரபாக்யம் - பதில் அளித்துள்ளேன் பார்க்கவும்.

முறைப்படியான புத்ரஸ்வீகார ஸம்ஸ்காரம் விதிப்படி பண்ணாமல்
தனக்குப் பிடித்தவைரை அபிமான புத்ரனாக நியமித்தால்
அது சாஸ்த்ரம் ஆகாது. சட்டத்துக்கு வேண்டுமானால் செல்லும்.

புத்ர ஸ்வீகாரம் என்பது,
ஒருவன் தன் புத்ரனை புத்ரன் இல்லாத ஒருவனுக்கு
தானமாகக் கொடுப்பது.
உரிய மந்த்ரங்களைக் கூறி இவன் இனி சாஸ்த்ரப்படி என் புத்ரன் அல்ல
என்று விலக்கு அளிப்பதும்,
இனி இவனை சாஸ்த்ரப்படி என் புத்ரனாக ஏற்கிறேன் என்று பெற்றுக்கொள்பவன்
செய்வதும் மிக முக்கியம்.
இதனாலேயே, அந்த தத்துக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவன் ஒரு பெண்ணைப்போல,
தன் சொந்தத் தகப்பனார், தாயார் மரணத்தில் 3 நாட்கள் மட்டுமே தீட்டு உடையவன் ஆகிறான்.
தன்னைப் ஸ்வீகாரமாப் பெற்றவரின் மரணத்தில் அவனுக்கு 10 நாள் தீட்டு.

இதேதான் பெண்களின் விஷயத்திலும்:
பெண்ணைப் பெற்றவன் புண்ணியம் வேண்டி பெண்ணை ஒரு குடும்பத்திற்கு தானமாகக்
கொடுத்துவிடுவதால், திருமணமான பெண்ணுக்கு தன் சொந்தப் பெற்றோர் மரணத்தில்
3 நாளும், தான் புகுந்தவீட்டில் மாமனார், மாமியார் மரணத்தில் 10 நாட்களும் தீட்டு.
இதைச் சற்று ஆழ்ந்து சித்தித்தால், நம் தர்ம சாஸ்த்ரம் எவ்வளவு பொருள் பொதிந்தது
என்பது தெரியவரும்.
இதுபோன்ற சிந்தனைத் தெளிவு இல்லாமல், மேம்போக்காகப் பார்த்துவிட்டு,
தர்ம சாஸ்த்ரத்தில் பெண்ணுக்கு ஒரு ஞாயம், பிள்ளைக்கு ஒரு ஞாயம் என்று
குதர்க்கம் பேசுகிறார்கள்.
