4.39.23 தத: காஞ்சநஸைலாபோ
கவயோ நாம யூதப: ।
ஆஜகாம மஹாவீர்ய:
பஞ்சபி: கோடிபிர்வ்ருத: ॥
tataḥ kāñcanaṡailābhō
gavayō nāma yūthapaḥ ।
ājagāma mahāvīryaḥ
pañcabhiḥ kōṭibhirvṛtaḥ ॥
Then came another chief by name Gavaya
of great valor who was like a mountain of gold,
along with five crore Vānaras.
4.39.24 தரீமுகஸ்ச பலவாந்
யூதபோऽப்யாயயௌ ததா ।
வ்ருத: கோடிஸஹஸ்ரேண
ஸுக்ரீவம் ஸமுபஸ்தித: ॥
darīmukhaṡca balavān
yūthapō'bhyāyayau tadā ।
vṛtaḥ kōṭisahasrēṇa
sugrīvaṃ samupasthitaḥ ॥
Then came the mighty strong chief Darīmukha,
surrounded by a thousand crore Vānaras
and waited upon Sugreeva.
4.39.25 மைந்தஸ்ச த்விவிதஸ்சோபௌ
அஸ்விபுத்ரௌ மஹாபலௌ ।
கோடிகோடிஸஹஸ்ரேண
வாநராணாமத்ருஸ்யதாம் ॥
maindaṡca dvividaṡcōbhau
aṡviputrau mahābalau ।
kōṭikōṭisahasrēṇa
vānarāṇāmadṛṡyatām ॥
Then were seen the mighty strong
duo of Mainda and Dwivida, the sons of Aṡwins,
with crores upon crores of thousands of Vānaras.
4.39.26 கஜஸ்ச பலவாந் வீர:
கோடிபிஸ்திஸ்ருபிர்வ்ருத: ।
ஆஜகாம மஹாதேஜா:
ஸுக்ரீவஸ்ய ஸமீபத: ॥
gajaṡca balavān vīraḥ
kōṭibhistisṛbhirvṛtaḥ ।
ājagāma mahātējāḥ
sugrīvasya samīpataḥ ॥
Then the mighty Veera of immense strength
by name Gaja, surrounded by three crore Vānaras,
approached Sugreeva.
4.39.27 ருக்ஷராஜோ மஹாதேஜா:
ஜாம்பவாந்நாம நாமத: ।
கோடிபிர்தஸபிர்வ்யாப்த:
ஸுக்ரீவஸ்ய வஸே ஸ்தித: ॥
ṛkṣarājō mahātējāḥ
jāmbavānnāma nāmataḥ ।
kōṭibhirdaṡabhirvyāptaḥ
sugrīvasya vaṡē sthitaḥ ॥
The King of bears, known to fame as Jāmbavan,
who owed fealty to Sugreeva,
came with ten crores of his followers.
4.39.28 ருமணோ நாம தேஜஸ்வீ
விக்ராந்தைர்வாநரைர்வ்ருத: ।
ஆகதோ பலவாம்ஸ்தூர்ணம்
கோடீஸதஸமாவ்ருத: ॥
rumaṇō nāma tējasvī
vikrāntairvānarairvṛtaḥ ।
āgatō balavāṃstūrṇam
kōṭīṡatasamāvṛtaḥ ॥
A Vānara of great strength, Rumaṇa by name,
came in all hurry surrounded by
hundred crore Vānaras of great prowess.
4.39.29 தத: கோடிஸஹஸ்ராணாம்
ஸஹஸ்ரேண ஸதேந ச ।
ப்ருஷ்டதோऽநுகத: ப்ராப்தோ
ஹரிபிர்கந்தமாதந: ॥
tataḥ kōṭisahasrāṇām
sahasrēṇa ṡatēna ca ।
pṛṣṭhatō'nugataḥ prāptō
haribhirgandhamādanaḥ ॥
Then arrived Gandhamādana,
with hundreds and thousands of thousands of
crores of Vānaras coming behind him.
4.39.30 தத: பத்மஸஹஸ்ரேண
வ்ருதஸ்ஸங்குஸதேந ச ।
யுவராஜோऽங்கத: ப்ராப்த:
பித்ருதுல்யபராக்ரம: ॥
tataḥ padmasahasrēṇa
vṛtaṡṡaṅkuṡatēna ca ।
yuvarājō'ṅgadaḥ prāptaḥ
pitṛtulyaparākramaḥ ॥
Then came the crown Prince Aṅgada,
equal to his father in valor, surrounded by
a thousand Padmas and a hundred Ṡankus of Vānaras.
4.39.31 ததஸ்தாராத்யுதிஸ்தாரோ
ஹரிர்பீமபராக்ரம: ।
பஞ்சபிர்ஹரிகோடீபி:
தூரத: ப்ரத்யத்ருஸ்யத ॥
tatastārādyutistārō
harirbhīmaparākramaḥ ।
pañcabhirharikōṭībhiḥ
dūrataḥ pratyadṛṡyata ॥
Then was seen at a distance,
Tara, that Vānara of terrific prowess
and star-like luminescence,
coming with five crores of Vānaras.
4.39.32 இந்த்ரஜாநு: கபிர்வீரோ
யூதப: ப்ரத்யத்ருஸ்யத ।
ஏகாதஸாநாம் கோடீநாம்
ஈஸ்வரஸ்தைஸ்ச ஸம்வ்ருத: ॥
indrajānuḥ kapirvīrō
yūthapaḥ pratyadṛṡyata ।
ēkādaṡānāṃ kōṭīnām
īṡvarastaiṡca saṃvṛtaḥ ॥
Then was seen the Vānara Indrajānu,
a Veera, a chief and a lord,
surrounded by eleven crores of followers.
4.39.33 ததோ ரம்பஸ்த்வநுப்ராப்த:
தருணாதித்யஸந்நிப: ।
அயுதேநாவ்ருதஸ்சைவ
ஸஹஸ்ரேண ஸதேந ச ॥
tatō rambhastvanuprāptaḥ
taruṇādityasannibhaḥ ।
ayutēnāvṛtaṡcaiva
sahasrēṇa ṡatēna ca ॥
Close on his heels followed Rambha,
who shone like the rising sun and
was followed by hundreds, thousands and Āyutas.
4.39.34 ததோ யூதபதிர்வீரோ
துர்முகோ நாம வாநர: ।
ப்ரத்யத்ருஸ்யத கோடீப்யாம்
த்வாப்யாம் பரிவ்ருதோ பலீ ॥
tatō yūthapatirvīrō
durmukhō nāma vānaraḥ ।
pratyadṛṡyata kōṭībhyām
dvābhyāṃ parivṛtō balī ॥
And then was seen a Vānara by name Durmukha,
a Veera of great strength, chief of two crores.
4.39.35 கைலாஸஸிகராகாரை:
வாநரைர்பீமவிக்ரமை: ।
வ்ருத: கோடிஸஹஸ்ரேண
ஹநுமாந்ப்ரத்யத்ருஸ்யத ॥
kailāsaṡikharākāraiḥ
vānarairbhīmavikramaiḥ ।
vṛtaḥ kōṭisahasrēṇa
hanumānpratyadṛṡyata ॥
Then was seen Hanuman, surrounded by
thousand crores of Vānaras of terrifying prowess,
who were huge like the crests of the Kailāsa mountain.
4.39.36 நலஸ்சாபி மஹாவீர்ய:
ஸம்வ்ருதோ த்ருமவாஸிபி: ।
கோடீஸதேந ஸம்ப்ராப்த:
ஸஹஸ்ரேண ஸதேந ச ॥
nalaṡcāpi mahāvīryaḥ
saṃvṛtō drumavāsibhiḥ ।
kōṭīṡatēna samprāptaḥ
sahasrēṇa ṡatēna ca ॥
Nala of immense power also came along
with one thousand, one hundred times
a hundred crores of tree dwellers.
4.39.37 ததோ ததிமுகஸ்ரீமாந்
கோடிபிர்தஸபிர்வ்ருத: ।
ஸம்ப்ராப்தோऽபிநதந்தஸ்ய
ஸுக்ரீவஸ்ய மஹாத்மந: ॥
tatō dadhimukhaṡrīmān
kōṭibhirdaṡabhirvṛtaḥ ।
samprāptō'bhinadantasya
sugrīvasya mahātmanaḥ ॥
There came the magnificent Dadhimukha with a roar,
surrounded by ten crore Vānaras,
to the presence of Mahātma Sugreeva.
4.39.38-39 ஸரப: குமுதோ வஹ்நி:
வாநரோ ரம்ஹ ஏவ ச ।
ஏதே சாந்யே ச பஹவோ
வாநரா: காமரூபிண: ।
ஆவ்ருத்ய ப்ருதிவீம் ஸர்வாம்
பர்வதாம்ஸ்ச வநாநி ச ।
யூதபாஸ்ஸமநுப்ராப்தா:
ஏஷாம் ஸம்க்யா ந வித்யதே ।
ஆகதாஸ்ச நிவிஷ்டாஸ்ச
ப்ருதிவ்யாம் ஸர்வவாநரா: ॥
ṡarabhaḥ kumudō vahniḥ
vānarō raṃha ēva ca ।
ētē cānyē ca bahavō
vānarāḥ kāmarūpiṇaḥ ।
āvṛtya pṛthivīṃ sarvām
parvatāṃṡca vanāni ca ।
yūthapāssamanuprāptāḥ
ēṣāṃ saṃkhyā na vidyatē ।
āgatāṡca niviṣṭāṡca
pṛthivyāṃ sarvavānarāḥ ॥
Sarabha, Kumuda, the Vānara Vanhi, Ramha,
and other Vānaras who could take any form at will,
that covered the entire earth
with its mountains and forests,
came and sat on the grounds.
4.39.40 ஆப்லவந்த: ப்லவந்தஸ்ச
கர்ஜந்தஸ்ச ப்லவங்கமா: ।
அப்யவர்தந்த ஸுக்ரீவம்
ஸூர்யமப்ரகணா இவ ॥
āplavantaḥ plavantaṡca
garjantaṡca plavaṅgamāḥ ।
abhyavartanta sugrīvam
sūryamabhragaṇā iva ॥
Those Vānaras came roaring, flying and jumping
and surrounded Sugreeva, like clouds do the sun.
4.39.41 குர்வாணா பஹுஸப்தாம்ஸ்ச
ப்ரக்ருஷ்டா பாஹுஸாலிந: ।
ஸிரோபிர்வாநரேந்த்ராய
ஸுக்ரீவாய ந்யவேதயந் ॥
kurvāṇā bahuṡabdāṃṡca
prakṛṣṭā bāhuṡālinaḥ ।
ṡirōbhirvānarēndrāya
sugrīvāya nyavēdayan ॥
Those great Vānaras of strong arms
bowed their head and announced themselves
to Sugreeva, making many a sound.
4.39.42 அபரே வாநரஸ்ரேஷ்டா:
ஸங்கம்ய ச யதோசிதம் ।
ஸுக்ரீவேண ஸமாகம்ய
ஸ்திதா: ப்ராஞ்ஜலயஸ்ததா ॥
aparē vānaraṡrēṣṭhāḥ
saṅgamya ca yathōcitam ।
sugrīvēṇa samāgamya
sthitāḥ prāñjalayastadā ॥
Other chiefs of Vānaras,
coming together in an orderly manner,
met Sugreeva and stood with
their palms joined in reverence.
4.39.43 ஸுக்ரீவஸ்த்வரிதோ ராமே ஸர்வாந்
தாந் வாநரரர்ஷபாந் ।
நிவேதயித்வா தர்மஜ்ஞ:
ஸ்தித: ப்ராஞ்ஜலிரப்ரவீத் ॥
sugrīvastvaritō rāmē sarvān
tān vānarararṣabhān ।
nivēdayitvā dharmajñaḥ
sthitaḥ prāñjalirabravīt ॥
And Sugreeva, who knew Dharma,
standing with his palms joined in reverence,
quickly introduced all of them
who came in a hurry, to Rāma.
4.39.44 யதாஸுகம் பர்வதநிஜரேஷு
வநேஷு ஸர்வேஷு ச வாநரேந்த்ரா: ।
நிவேஸயித்வா விதிவத்பலாநி
பலம் பலஜ்ஞ: ப்ரதிபத்துமீஷ்டே ॥
yathāsukhaṃ parvatanijharēṣu
vanēṣu sarvēṣu ca vānarēndrāḥ ।
nivēṡayitvā vidhivadbalāni
balaṃ balajñaḥ pratipattumīṣṭē ॥
O chiefs of Vānaras! Station your forces
on all the mountains, in the Vanas
and by the streams, in due order.
He (Rāma) who is good at assessing strength,
will then be able to gauge the forces.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
கிஷ்கிந்தாகாண்டே ஏகோநசத்வாரிம்ஸஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
kiṣkindhākāṇḍē ēkōnacatvāriṃṡassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes the thirty ninth Sarga
in Kishkindhā Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
