4.43.22 தத்ர பாண்டுரமேகாபம்
ஜாம்பூநதபரிஷ்க்ருதம் ।
குபேரபவநம் ரம்யம்
நிர்மிதம் விஸ்வகர்மணா ॥
tatra pāṇḍuramēghābham
jāmbūnadapariṣkṛtam ।
kubērabhavanaṃ ramyam
nirmitaṃ viṡvakarmaṇā ॥
Over there, is situated the splendid abode of Kubēra
that was built by Viṡwakarma
shining like a white cloud,
with works of gold all over it.
4.43.23 விஸாலா நலிநீ யத்ர
ப்ரபூதகமலோத்பலா ।
ஹம்ஸகாரண்டவாகீர்ணா
அப்ஸரோகணஸேவிதா ॥
viṡālā nalinī yatra
prabhūtakamalōtpalā ।
haṃsakāraṇḍavākīrṇā
apsarōgaṇasēvitā ॥
On its grounds are huge lotus pools
with an abundance of lotus and lily
frequented by huge numbers of
swans and Kāraṇḍavas and
by bands of Apsaras.
4.43.24 தத்ர வைஸ்ரவணோ ராஜா
ஸர்வபூதநமஸ்க்ருத: ।
தநதோ ரமதே ஸ்ரீமாந்
குஹ்யகைஸ்ஸஹ யக்ஷராட் ॥
tatra vaiṡravaṇō rājā
sarvabhūtanamaskṛtaḥ ।
dhanadō ramatē ṡrīmān
guhyakaissaha yakṣarāṭ ॥
There lives happily, along with his Yakshas,
the King Vaiṡravaṇa (Kubēra),
Ruler of the Yakshas and Lord of Wealth,
who is revered by all creatures.
4.43.25 தஸ்ய சந்த்ரநிகாஸேஷு
பர்வதேஷு குஹாஸு ச ।
ராவணஸ்ஸஹ வைதேஹ்யா
மார்கிதவ்யஸ்ததஸ்தத: ॥
tasya candranikāṡēṣu
parvatēṣu guhāsu ca ।
rāvaṇassaha vaidēhyā
mārgitavyastatastataḥ ॥
You should search for Rāvaṇa and Vaidēhi
in its caves, and on its hills
that shine like moon-light.
4.43.26 க்ரௌஞ்சம் து கிரிமாஸாத்ய
பிலம் தஸ்ய ஸுதுர்கமம் ।
அப்ரமத்தை: ப்ரவேஷ்டவ்யம்
துஷ்ப்ரவேஸம் ஹி தத்ஸ்ம்ருதம் ॥
krauńcaṃ tu girimāsādya
bilaṃ tasya sudurgamam ।
apramattaiḥ pravēṣṭavyam
duṣpravēṡaṃ hi tatsmṛtam ॥
Then you should reach the Krounca mountain.
You should enter its impassable caves with caution
for they are well-known to be quite impenetrable.
4.43.27 வஸந்தி ஹி மஹாத்மாந:
தத்ர ஸூர்யஸமப்ரபா: ।
தேவைரப்யர்திதாஸ்ஸம்யக்
தேவரூபா மஹர்ஷய: ॥
vasanti hi mahātmānaḥ
tatra sūryasamaprabhāḥ ।
dēvairabhyarthitāssamyak
dēvarūpā maharṣayaḥ ॥
And there live comfortably, great Maharshis,
radiant like the sun, resembling Dēvas in form
and well worshiped by the Dēvas themselves.
4.43.28-29a க்ரௌஞ்சஸ்ய து குஹாஸ்சாந்யா:
ஸாநூநிஸிகராணி ச ।
நிர்தராஸ்ச நிதம்பாஸ்ச
விசேதவ்யாஸ்ததஸ்தத: ।
கௌஞ்சஸ்ய ஸிகரம் சாபி
நிரீக்ஷ்ய ச ததஸ்தத: ॥
krauńcasya tu guhāṡcānyāḥ
sānūniṡikharāṇi ca ।
nirdarāṡca nitambāṡca
vicētavyāstatastataḥ ।
kauńcasya ṡikharaṃ cāpi
nirīkṣya ca tatastataḥ ॥
The caves of the Krounca, its flanks and crests,
its hollows and valleys, should also be searched.
You should search, in particular,
the principal peak of Krounca.
4.43.29b-30a அவ்ருக்ஷம் காமஸைலம் ச
மாநஸம் விஹகாலயம் ।
ந கதிஸ்தத்ர பூதாநாம்
தேவாநாம் ந ச ரக்ஷஸாம் ॥
avṛkṣaṃ kāmaṡailaṃ ca
mānasaṃ vihagālayam ।
na gatistatra bhūtānām
dēvānāṃ na ca rakṣasām ॥
Then comes a wish-granting mountain called Mānasa,
an abode of birds that is completely denuded of trees.
No Dēva or Rākshasa or any creatures have access to it.
4.43.30b-31a ஸ ச ஸர்வைர்விசேதவ்ய:
ஸஸாநுப்ரஸ்தபூதர: ।
க்ரௌஞ்சம் கிரிமதிக்ரம்ய
மைநாகோ நாம பர்வத: ॥
sa ca sarvairvicētavyaḥ
sasānuprasthabhūdharaḥ ।
krauńcaṃ girimatikramya
mainākō nāma parvataḥ ॥
The Krounca mountain should be searched everywhere
including its flanks, levels and foothills,
crossing which is a mountain known as Maināka.
4.43.31b-32 மயஸ்ய பவநம் தத்ர
தாநவஸ்ய ஸ்வயம் க்ருதம் ।
மைநாகஸ்து விசேதவ்ய:
ஸஸாநுப்ரஸ்தகந்தர: ।
ஸ்த்ரீணாமஸ்வமுகீநாம் து
நிகேதாஸ்தத்ர தத்ர து ॥
mayasya bhavanaṃ tatra
dānavasya svayaṃ kṛtam ।
mainākastu vicētavyaḥ
sasānuprasthakandaraḥ ।
strīṇāmaṡvamukhīnāṃ tu
nikētāstatra tatra tu ॥
And on it, is the mansion of Maya which he himself built.
Search the flanks, levels and foothills of Maināka
and also the houses of women with horse-faces
that can be seen there.
4.43.33 தம் தேஸம் ஸமதிக்ரம்ய
ஆஸ்ரமம் ஸித்தஸேவிதம் ।
ஸித்தா வைகாநஸாஸ்தத்ர
வாலகில்யாஸ்ச தாபஸா: ॥
taṃ dēṡaṃ samatikramya
āṡramaṃ siddhasēvitam ।
siddhā vaikhānasāstatra
vālakhilyāṡca tāpasāḥ ॥
Beyond that region lies the Āṡrama
frequented by the Siddhas.
Siddhas, Vaikhanasas and the
Tapasvis Vālakhilyas live there.
4.43.34 வந்திதவ்யாஸ்தத: ஸித்தா:
தபஸா வீதகல்மஷா: ।
ப்ரஷ்டவ்யா சாபி ஸீதாயா:
ப்ரவ்ருத்திர்விநயாந்விதை: ॥
vanditavyāstataḥ siddhāḥ
tapasā vītakalmaṣāḥ ।
praṣṭavyā cāpi sītāyāḥ
pravṛttirvinayānvitaiḥ ॥
Make your obeisance to those Siddhas
who have dissolved their impurities through Tapa.
And with all deference, seek news of Seetā from them.
4.43.35 ஹேமபுஷ்கரஸஞ்சந்நம்
தஸ்மிந் வைகாநஸம் ஸர: ।
தருணாதித்யஸங்காஸை:
ஹம்ஸைர்விசரிதம் ஸுபை: ॥
hēmapuṣkarasańchannam
tasmin vaikhānasaṃ saraḥ ।
taruṇādityasaṅkāṡaiḥ
haṃsairvicaritaṃ ṡubhaiḥ ॥
Then comes the lake Vaikhanasa,
whose waters are covered with golden lotuses
and on which move lovely swans
with the glow of the rising sun.
4.43.36 ஔபவாஹ்ய: குபேரஸ்ய
ஸார்வபௌம இதி ஸ்ம்ருத: ।
கஜ: பர்யேதி தம் தேஸம்
ஸதா ஸஹ கரேணுபி: ॥
aupavāhyaḥ kubērasya
sārvabhauma iti smṛtaḥ ।
gajaḥ paryēti taṃ dēṡam
sadā saha karēṇubhiḥ ॥
The tusker known as Sārvabhowma, the mount of Kubēra,
always roams in that region along with its cows.
4.43.37 தத்ஸரஸ்ஸமதிக்ரம்ய
நஷ்டசந்த்ரதிவாகரம் ।
அநக்ஷத்ரகணம் வ்யோம
நிஷ்பயோதமநாதிதம் ॥
tatsarassamatikramya
naṣṭacandradivākaram ।
anakṣatragaṇaṃ vyōma
niṣpayōdamanāditam ॥
Beyond that lake lies a space where
there is neither sun nor moon,
neither stars nor clouds, nor a sound.
4.43.38 கபஸ்திபிரிவார்கஸ்ய
ஸ து தேஸ: ப்ரகாஸதே ।
விஸ்ராம்யத்பிஸ்தபஸ்ஸித்தை:
தேவகல்பை: ஸ்வயம்ப்ரபை: ॥
gabhastibhirivārkasya
sa tu dēṡaḥ prakāṡatē ।
viṡrāmyadbhistapassiddhaiḥ
dēvakalpaiḥ svayaṃprabhaiḥ ॥
That region is lit up, instead of by the rays of the sun,
by the presence of self-luminous souls
who are ripened with their Tapa and are equals of Dēvas.
4.43.39-40a தம் து தேஸமதிக்ரம்ய
ஸைலோதா நாம நிம்நகா ।
உபயோஸ்தீரயோஸ்தஸ்யா:
கீசகா நாம வேணவ: ।
தே நயந்தி பரம் தீரம்
ஸித்தாந்ப்ரத்யாநயந்தி ச ॥
taṃ tu dēṡamatikramya
ṡailōdā nāma nimnagā ।
ubhayōstīrayōstasyāḥ
kīcakā nāma vēṇavaḥ ।
tē nayanti paraṃ tīram
siddhānpratyānayanti ca ॥
Beyond that region runs the river Ṡailōda,
on whose banks grow the variety of bamboo called Keecaka.
They carry the Siddhas to the other bank and back.
4.43.40b-41 உத்தரா: குரவஸ்தத்ர
க்ருதபுண்யப்ரதிஸ்ரயா: ।
தத: காஞ்சநபத்மாபி:
பத்பிநீபி: க்ருதோதகா: ।
நீலவைடூர்ய பத்ராட்யா
நத்யஸ்தத்ர ஸஹஸ்ரஸ: ॥
uttarāḥ kuravastatra
kṛtapuṇyapratiṡrayāḥ ।
tataḥ kāńcanapadmābhiḥ
padbhinībhiḥ kṛtōdakāḥ ।
nīlavaiḍūrya patrāḍhyā
nadyastatra sahasraṡaḥ ॥
Then there is the Uttara-kuru country,
the home of those who have accumulated Puṇya.
Thousands of streams run there,
which are fed by lotus pools
in which grow golden lotuses
whose leaves are bright-blue like lazulite.
4.43.43 ரக்தோத்பலவநைஸ்சாத்ர
மண்டிதாஸ்ச ஹிரண்மயை: ।
தருணாதித்யஸங்காஸை:
பாந்தி தத்ர ஜலாஸயா: ।
மஹார்ஹமணிரத்நைஸ்ச
காஞ்சநப்ரபகேஸரை: ।
நீலோத்பலவநைஸ்சித்ரை:
ஸ தேஸஸ்ஸர்வதோ வ்ருத: ॥
raktōtpalavanaiṡcātra
maṇḍitāṡca hiraṇmayaiḥ ।
taruṇādityasaṅkāṡaiḥ
bhānti tatra jalāṡayāḥ ।
mahārhamaṇiratnaiṡca
kāńcanaprabhakēsaraiḥ ।
nīlōtpalavanaiṡcitraiḥ
sa dēṡassarvatō vṛtaḥ ॥
There are beds of lilies that
vary in hue from gold to red.
The water bodies there shine
with the glow of the morning sun.
That region is covered everywhere
with amazing beds of blue lilies
with their filaments glowing like gold
and resembling the most coveted gems.
