    With fear gripping them,

With the clamor of those multitude of Vānaras,
each one of whom was like a great mountain crest,
    reverberating in the hollows heavily,
    that mountain looked like
the sky filled with thunderous clouds. Vālmeeki zooms out from the micro details like the ends of Darbhas facing south to the macro picture of how the character of the entire mountain changed with their clamor.
Their clamor attracts the attention of Sampāti and makes him approach them, in the next Sarga.

Thus concludes the fifty fifth Sarga
in Kishkindhā Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
    composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
You have completed reading 11107 Ṡlōkas out of ~24,000 Ṡlōkas of Vālmeeki Rāmāyaṇa.
