தூம்ராக்ஷஸ்ய ச ஸம்பாதே:
பவநம் மாருதாத்மஜ: ।
வித்யுத்ரூபஸ்ய பீமஸ்ய
கநஸ்ய விகநஸ்ய ச ।
ஸுகநாஸஸ்ய வக்ரஸ்ய
ஸடஸ்ய விகடஸ்ய ச ।
ப்ரஹ்மகர்ணஸ்ய தம்ஷ்ட்ரஸ்ய
ரோமஸஸ்ய ச ரக்ஷஸ: ।
யுத்தோந்மத்தஸ்ய மத்தஸ்ய
த்வஜக்ரீவஸ்ய நாதிந: ।
வித்யுஜ்ஜிஹ்வேந்த்ரஜிஹ்வாநாம்
ததா ஹஸ்திமுகஸ்ய ச ।
கராளஸ்ய பிஸாசஸ்ய
ஸோணிதாக்ஷஸ்ய சைவ ஹி ॥
dhūmrākṣasya ca sampātēḥ
bhavanaṃ mārutātmajaḥ ।
vidyudrūpasya bhīmasya
ghanasya vighanasya ca ।
ṡukanāsasya vakrasya
ṡaṭhasya vikaṭasya ca ।
brahmakarṇasya daṃṣṭrasya
rōmaṡasya ca rakṣasaḥ ।
yuddhōnmattasya mattasya
dhvajagrīvasya nādinaḥ ।
vidyujjihvēndrajihvānām
tathā hastimukhasya ca ।
karā asya piṡācasya
ṡōṇitākṣasya caiva hi ॥
The son of Vāyu then went to
the mansions of the Rākshasas,
Dhūmrāksha, Sampāti, Vidyudrūpa, Bheema,
Ghana, Vighana, Ṡukanāsa, Vakra, Ṡaṭha,
Vikaṭa, Brahmakarṇa, Daṃshṭra, Rōmaṡa,
Yuddhōnmatta, Matta, Dhwajagreeva, Nādi,
Vidyujjihva, Indrajihva, Hastimukha,
Karāla, Piṡāca and Ṡōṇitākṣa.
க்ரமமாண: க்ரமேணைவ
ஹநுமாந்மாருதாத்மஜ: ।
தேஷு தேஷு மஹார்ஹேஷு
பவநேஷு மஹாயஸா: ।
தேஷாம்ருத்திமதாம்ருத்திம்
ததர்ஸ ஸ மஹாகபி: ॥
kramamāṇaḥ kramēṇaiva
hanumānmārutātmajaḥ ।
tēṣu tēṣu mahārhēṣu
bhavanēṣu mahāyaṡāḥ ।
tēṣāmṛddhimatāmṛddhim
dadarṡa sa mahākapiḥ ॥
Going from one house to the other in an orderly manner,
Hanumān, the son of Vāyu, of great reputation,
saw opulence of those prosperous folk
evident in each of those coveted mansions.
ஸர்வேஷாம் ஸமதிக்ரம்ய
பவநாநி ஸமந்தத: ।
ஆஸஸாதாத லக்ஷ்மீவாந்
ராக்ஷஸேத்ரநிவேஸநம் ॥
sarvēṣāṃ samatikramya
bhavanāni samantataḥ ।
āsasādātha lakṣmīvān
rākṣasēdranivēṡanam ॥
The blessed one, having seen
the houses all around it,
came (back) to the abode of
the King of Rākshasas.
ராவணஸ்யோபஸாயிந்யோ
ததர்ஸ ஹரிஸத்தம: ।
விசரந்ஹரிஸார்தூலோ
ராக்ஷஸீர்விக்ருதேக்ஷணா: ।
ஸூலமுத்கரஹஸ்தாஸ்ச
ஸக்திதோமரதாரிணீ: ॥
rāvaṇasyōpaṡāyinyō
dadarṡa harisattamaḥ ।
vicaranhariṡārdūlō
rākṣasīrvikṛtēkṣaṇāḥ ।
ṡūlamudgarahastāṡca
ṡaktitōmaradhāriṇīḥ ॥
The eminent Vānara, a tiger among Vānaras,
as he went about, saw many
Rākshasis with deformed eyes
standing guard as Rāvaṇa slept,
wielding spears, Mudgaras, Ṡaktis and Tōmaras.
ததர்ஸ விவிதாந் குல்மாந்
தஸ்ய ரக்ஷ:பதேர்க்ருஹே ।
ராக்ஷஸாம்ஸ்ச மஹாகாயாந்
நாநாப்ரஹரணோத்யதாந் ॥
dadarṡa vividhān gulmān
tasya rakṣaḥpatērgṛhē ।
rākṣasāṃṡca mahākāyān
nānāpraharaṇōdyatān ॥
In that house of the lord of Rākshasas,
he saw various bands of fighters,
and Rākshasas with gigantic bodies
with various weapons raised in their hands.
ரக்தாந் ஸ்வேதாந் ஸிதாம்ஸ்சைவ
ஹரீம்ஸ்சாபி மஹாஜவாந் ।
குலீநாந் ரூபஸம்பந்நாந்
கஜாந்பரகஜாருஜாந் ।
நிஷ்டிதாந் கஜஸிக்ஷாயாம்
ஐராவதஸமாந்யுதி ।
நிஹந்த்ரூந் பரஸைந்யாநாம்
க்ருஹே தஸ்மிந் ததர்ஸ ஸ: ।
க்ஷரதஸ்ச யதா மேகாந்
ஸ்ரவதஸ்ச யதா கிரீந் ।
மேகஸந்ததிநிர்கோஷாந்
துர்தர்ஷாந் ஸமரே பரை: ॥
raktān ṡvētān sitāṃṡcaiva
harīá ��ṡcāpi mahājavān ।
kulīnān rūpasampannān
gajānparagajārujān ।
niṣṭhitān gajaṡikṣāyām
airāvatasamānyudhi ।
nihantrūn parasainyānām
gṛhē tasmin dadarṡa saḥ ।
kṣarataṡca yathā mēghān
sravataṡca yathā girīn ।
mēghasantatinirghōṣān
durdharṣān samarē paraiḥ ॥
He saw red, white and grey
horses of great speed in that house.
He also saw pedigree elephants,
splendid in appearance and
trumpeting like the peal of thunder,
which could play havoc among
the elephant forces of the enemy.
Perfectly trained, knowing all the
skills that an elephant can ever have,
the equals of Airāvata in fighting,
and invincible in a fight with enemies,
those destroyers of enemy forces exuded ichor
like clouds showering water and
streams gushing out of mountains.
ஸஹஸ்ரம் வாஹிநீஸ்தத்ர
ஜாம்பூநதபரிஷ்க்ருதா: ।
ஹேமஜாலபரிச்சந்நா:
தருணாதித்யஸந்நிபா: ।
ததர்ஸ ராக்ஷஸேந்த்ரஸ்ய
ராவணஸ்ய நிவேஸநே ॥
sahasraṃ vāhinīstatra
jāmbūnadapariṣkṛtāḥ ।
hēmajālaparicchannāḥ
taruṇādityasannibhāḥ ।
dadarṡa rākṣasēndrasya
rāvaṇasya nivēṡanē ॥
He saw in that house of Rāvaṇa,
thousands of Vāhinīs
decorated with gold trappings
wearing suits made of gold strings
shining like the late morning sun.
ஸிபிகா விவிதாகாரா:
ஸ கபிர்மாருதாத்மஜ: ।
லதாக்ருஹாணி சித்ராணி
சித்ரஸாலாக்ருஹாணி ச ।
க்ரீடாக்ருஹாணி சாந்யாநி
தாருபர்வதகாநபி ।
காமஸ்ய க்ருஹகம் ரம்யம்
திவாக்ருஹகமேவ ச ।
ததர்ஸ ராக்ஷஸேந்த்ரஸ்ய
ராவணஸ்ய நிவேஸநே ॥
ṡibikā vividhākārāḥ
sa kapirmārutātmajaḥ ।
latāgṛhāṇi citrāṇi
citraṡālāgṛhāṇi ca ।
krīḍāgṛhāṇi cānyāni
dāruparvatakānapi ।
kāmasya gṛhakaṃ ramyam
divāgṛhakamÄ “va ca ।
dadarṡa rākṣasēndrasya
rāvaṇasya nivēṡanē ॥
That Vānara, the son of Vāyu
saw in the house of Rāvaṇa, the lord of Rākshasas,
palanquins of diverse shapes,
beautiful vine-covered arbors,
halls with picture galleries,
many other recreation halls,
artificial hills made of wood,
delightful bed-rooms and pleasant drawing rooms.
ஸ மந்தரகிரிப்ரக்யம்
மயூரஸ்தாநஸங்குலம் ।
த்வஜயஷ்டிபிராகீர்ணம்
ததர்ஸ பவநோத்தமம் ।
அநேகரத்நஸங்கீர்ணம்
நிதிஜாலம் ஸமந்தத: ।
தீரநிஷ்டிதகர்மாந்தம்
க்ருஹம் பூதபதேரிவ ॥
sa mandaragiriprakhyam
mayūrasthānasaṅkulam ।
dhvajayaṣṭibhirākīrṇam
dadarṡa bhavanōttamam ।
anēkaratnasaṅkīrṇam
nidhijālaṃ samantataḥ ।
dhīraniṣṭhitakarmāntam
gṛhaṃ bhūtapatēriva ॥
He saw that splendid mansion,
lofty as the Mandara mountain,
full of flagstaffs and perches for peacocks.
Filled with chests full of every kind of gem,
it was like the house of Kubēra,
where everything was run by very capable people.
அர்சிர்பிஸ்சாபி ரத்நாநாம்
தேஜஸா ராவணஸ்ய ச ।
விரராஜாத தத்வேஸ்ம
ரஸ்மிமாநிவ ரஸ்மிபி: ॥
arcirbhiṡcāpi ratnānām
tējasā rāvaṇasya ca ।
virarājātha tadvēṡma
raṡmimāniva raṡmibhiḥ ॥
With the dazzle of gems
and the radiance of Rāvaṇa,
that mansion seemed to shine
like the sun with his rays.
ஜாம்பூநதமயாந்யேந
ஸயநாந்யாஸநாநி ச ।
பாஜநாநி ச முக்யாநி
ததர்ஸ ஹரியூதப: ॥
jāmbūnadamayānyēna
ṡayanānyāsanāni ca ।
bhājanāni ca mukhyāni
dadarṡa hariyūthapaḥ ॥
The Vānara chief saw bedsteads and couches
made of gold and many exquisite vessels.
மத்வாஸவக்ருதக்லேதம்
மணிபாஜநஸங்குலம் ।
மநோரமமஸம்பாதம்
குபேரபவநம் யதா ॥
madhvāsavakṛtaklēdam
maṇibhājanasaṅkulam ।
manōramamasaṃbādham
kubērabhavanaṃ yathā ॥
(It was) flowing with mead and liquor,
and was full of vessels set with gems,
spacious and pleasing like the mansion of Kubēra.
நூபுராணாம் ச கோஷேண
காஞ்சீநாம் நிநதேந ச ।
ம்ருதங்கதலகோஷைஸ்ச
கோஷவத்பிர்விநாதிதம் ॥
nūpurāṇāṃ ca ghōṣēṇa
kāñcīnāṃ ninadēna ca ।
mṛdaṅgatalaghōṣaiṡca
ghōṣavadbhirvināditam ॥
(It was) resounding with the
tinkling of anklets and girdles
and was booming with the sounds of Mṛdanga.
ப்ராஸாதஸங்காதயுதம்
ஸ்த்ரீரத்நஸதஸங்குலம் ।
ஸுவ்யூடகக்ஷ்யம் ஹநுமாந்
ப்ரவிவேஸ மஹாக்ருஹாம் ॥
prāsādasaṅghātayutam
strīratnaṡatasaṅkulam ।
suvyūḍhakakṣyaṃ hanumān
pravivēṡa mahāgṛhām ॥
And Hanumān made his entry into that huge mansion
which contained many splendid suites
and well-planned quadrangles and was lively
with crowds of women, jewels of their kind.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
ஸுந்தரகாண்டே ஷஷ்டஸ்ஸர்க:॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
sundarakāṇḍē ṣaṣṭhassargaḥ॥
Thus concludes the sixth Sarga
in Sundara Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
