    Sundara Kaanda - Sarga 7
    In this Sarga, Hanumān sees the beautiful and captivating Vimāna known as Pushpaka.

    5.7.1 ஈ ஸ வேஸ்மஜாலம் பலவாந் ததர்ஸ
    வ்யாஸக்தவைடூர்யஸுவர்ணஜாலம் ।
    யதா மஹத் ப்ராவ்ருஷி மேகஜாலம்
    வித்யுத்பிநத்தம் ஸவிஹங்கஜாலம் ॥
    sa vēṡmajālaṃ balavān dadarṡa
    vyāsaktavaiḍūryasuvarṇajālam ।
    yathā mahat prāvṛṣi mēghajālam
    vidyutpinaddhaṃ savihaṅgajālam ॥
    The mighty one saw rows of mansions
    with casements inlaid with lazulite and gold.
    They resembled the great monsoon clouds
    adorned by streaks of lightning and
    rows of flying flocks of birds.

    ப்ரதாநஸங்காயுதசாபஸாலா: ।
    மநோஹராஸ்சாபி புநர்விஸாலா:
    ததர்ஸ வேஸ்மாத்ரிஷு சந்த்ரஸாலா: ॥
    nivēṡanānāṃ vividhāṡca ṡālāḥ
    pradhānaṡaṅkhāyudhacāpaṡālāḥ ।
    manōharāṡcāpi punarviṡālāḥ
    dadarṡa vēṡmādriṣu candraṡālāḥ ॥
    In those mansions that were huge like mountains,
    he saw many halls, some filled with conch shells,
    some with weapons, some with bows,
    some stretching themselves wide onto the terraces,
    captivating everyone’s heart.

    5.7.3 ஈ க்ருஹாணி நாநாவஸுராஜிதாநி
    தேவாஸுரைஸ்சாபி ஸுபூஜிதாநி ।
    ஸர்வைஸ்ச தோஷை: பரிவர்ஜிதாநி
    கபிர்ததர்ஸ ஸ்வபலார்ஜிதாநி ॥
    gṛhāṇi nānāvasurājitāni
    dēvāsuraiṡcāpi supūjitāni ।
    sarvaiṡca dōṣaiḥ parivarjitāni
    kapirdadarṡa svabalārjitāni ॥
    The Vānara saw houses without any flaw whatsoever,
    filled with every kind of luxurious item,
    admired even by the Dēvas and Asuras,
    that were earned (by the Rākshasas) by their might.

    மயேந ஸாக்ஷாதிவ நிர்மிதாநி ।

    tāni prayatnābhisamāhitāni
    mayēna sākṣādiva nirmitāni ।
    mahītalē sarvaguṇōttarāṇi
    dadarṡa laṅkādhipatērgṛhāṇi ॥
    He saw the mansions of the lord of Laṅkā
    that were built together with every effort
    excelling in every possible way
    on the face of this earth,
    as if they were built by none other than Maya.

    மநோஹரம் காஞ்சநசாருரூபம் ।

    க்ருஹோத்தமம் ஹ்யப்ரதிரூபரூபம் ॥
    tatō dadarṡōchracitamēgharūpam
    manōharaṃ kāñcanacārurūpam ।
    rakṣō'dhipasyātmabalānurūpam
    gṛhōttamaṃ hyapratirūparūpam ॥
    Then he saw the captivating
    beautiful golden residence
    of the lord of Rākshasas
    that matched his power and stature,
    an excellent house that had no match,
    standing high like a lofty cloud.

    ஸ்ரியா ஜ்வலந்தம் பஹுரத்நகீர்ணம் ।
    நாநாதரூணாம் குஸுமாவகீர்ணம்
    கிரேரிவாக்ரம் ரஜஸாவகீர்ணம் ।
    நாரீப்ரவேகைரிவ தீப்யமாநம்
    தடித்பிரம்போதவதர்ச்யமாநம் ।
    ஹம்ஸப்ரவேகைரிவ வாஹ்யமாநம்
    ஸ்ரியா யுதம் கே ஸுக்ருதாம் விமாநம் ।
    யதா நகாக்ரம் பஹுதாதுசித்ரம்
    யதா நபஸ்ச க்ரஹசந்த்ரசித்ரம் ।
    தà ��ர்ஸயுக்தீக்ருதமேகசித்ரம்
    விமாநரத்நம் பஹுரத்நசித்ரம் ॥
    mahītalē svargamiva prakīrṇam
    ṡriyā jvalantaṃ bahuratnakīrṇam ।
    nānātarūṇāṃ kusumāvakīrṇam
    girērivāgraṃ rajasāvakīrṇam ।
    nārīpravēkairiva dīpyamānam
    taṭidbhirambhōdavadarcyamānam ।
    haṃsapravēkairiva vāhyamānam
    ṡriyā yutaṃ khē sukṛtāṃ vimānam ।
    yathā nagāgraṃ bahudhātucitram
    yathā nabhaṡca grahacandracitram ।
    dadarṡayuktīkṛtamēghacitram
    vimānaratnaṃ bahuratnacitram ॥
    Then he saw a Vimāna, a jewel among its kind,
    that was like heaven descended on earth,
    dazzling with opulence, filled with every kind of gem,
    decorated with flowers of various trees,
    shining like the peak of a mountain covered in pollen,
    inhabited by women par excellence,
    admired as if it were a cloud with streaks of lightning,
    looking as if it was floating in the sky
    carried by the best of the swans and
    filled with luxury only the most fortunate deserve.
    With its amazing decorations of gems,
    it resembled the peak of a mountain
    that shines with minerals of variegated colors
    and the sky that shines with the moon and the planets,
    into which the clouds blend in a mesmerizing manner.

    ஸைலா: க்ருதா வ்ருக்ஷவிதாநபூர்ணா: ।
    வ்ருக்ஷா: க்ருதா: புஷ்பவிதாநபூர்ணா:
    புஷ்பம் க்ருதம் கேஸரபத்ரபூர்ணம் ॥
    mahī kṛtā parvatarājipūrṇāḥ
    ṡailāḥ kṛtā vṛkṣavitānapūrṇāḥ ।
    vṛkṣāḥ kṛtāḥ puṣpavitānapūrṇāḥ
    puṣpaṃ kṛtaṃ kēsarapatrapūrṇam ॥
    It had works (of art), that portrayed
    expanses of land full of ranges of mountains,
    each detailed with their cover of trees,
    each of which were abundant with flowers
    each of which were detailed
    with their petals and filaments.

    5.7.10 ஈ க்ருதாநி வேஸ்மாநி ச பாண்டுராணி
    ததா ஸுபுஷ்பாண்யபி புஷ்கராணி ।
    புநஸ்ச பத்மாநி ஸகேஸராணி
    தந்யாநி சித்ராணி ததா வநாநி ॥
    kṛtāni vēṡmāni ca pāṇḍurāṇi
    tathā supuṣpāṇyapi puṣkarāṇi ।
    punaṡca padmāni sakēsarāṇi
    dhanyāni citrāṇi tathā vanāni ॥
    It had works (of art) that portrayed
    houses that are bright white,
    ponds with flowers in them,
    and lotuses with the detail of their filaments
    and many colorful Vanas.

    5.7.11 ஈ புஷ்பாஹ்வயம் நாமவிராஜமாநம்
    ரத்நப்ரபாபிஸ்ச விகூர்ணமாநம் ।
    வேஸ்மோத்தமாநாமபி சோச்சமாநம்
    மஹாகபிஸ்தத்ர மஹாவிமாநம் ॥
    puṣpāhvayaṃ nāmavirājamānam
    ratnaprabhābhiṡca vighūrṇamānam ।
    vēṡmōttamānāmapi cōccamānam
    mahākapistatra mahāvimānam ॥
    Its name was Pushpaka and
    it was splendid, true to its name.
    The dazzle of its gems
    made it look as if it was moving.
    That great Vimāna which the Vānara saw
    seemed to be bigger than even the best of mansions.

    ரூப்யப்ரவாலைஸ்ச ததா விஹங்கா: ।
    சித்ராஸ்ச நாநாவஸுபிர்புஜங்கா:
    ஜாத்யாநுரூபாஸ்துரகா: ஸுபாங்கா: ॥
    kṛtāṡca vaiḍūryamayā vihaṅgāḥ
    rūpyapravālaiṡca tathā vihaṅgāḥ ।
    citrāṡca nānāvasubhirbhujaṅgāḥ
    jātyānurūpāsturagāḥ ṡubhāṅgāḥ ॥
    There were figurines of birds made of lazulite,
    other birds made of silver and corals,
    serpents made of various rich materials and
    figurines of pedigree horses of well-chiseled limbs.

    5.7.13 ஈ ப்ரவாலஜாம்பூநதபுஷ்பபக்ஷா:
    ஸலீலமாவர்ஜிதஜிஹ்மபக்ஷா: ।
    காமஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாதிவ பாந்தி பக்ஷா:
    க்ருதா விஹங்கா: ஸுமுகா: ஸுபக்ஷா: ॥
    pravālajāmbūnadapuṣpapakṣāḥ
    salīlamāvarjitajihmapakṣāḥ ।
    kāmasya sākṣādiva bhānti pakṣāḥ
    kṛtā vihaṅgāḥ sumukhāḥ supakṣāḥ ॥
    There were figurines of birds
    with excellent faces and
    stylishly curved wings
    made of gold and coral flowers
    that seemed to be the wings
    of the god of Love himself.

    5.7.14 ஈ நியுஜ்யமாநாஸ்து கஜா: ஸுஹஸ்தா:
    ஸகேஸராஸ்சோத்பலபத்ரஹஸ்தா: ।
    பபூவதேவீ ச க்ருதா ஸுஹஸ்தா:
    லக்ஷ்மீ ஸ்ததா பத்மிநி பத்மஹஸ்தா: ॥
    niyujyamānāstu gajāḥ suhastāḥ
    sakēsarāṡcōtpalapatrahastāḥ ।
    babhūvadēvī ca kṛtā suhastāḥ
    lakṣmī stathā padmini padmahastāḥ ॥
    And there were lotus ponds with
    elephants sporting shapely trunks
    in which they held lilies
    detailed with their filaments,
    set to shower the goddess Lakshmi
    who also held lotuses in her delicate hands.

    5.7.15 ஈ இதீவ தத்க்ருஹமபிகம்ய ஸோபநம்
    ஸவிஸ்மயோ நகமிவ சாருஸோபநம் ।
    புநஸ்ச தத்பரமஸுகந்தி ஸுந்தரம்
    ஹிமாத்யயே நகமிவ சாருகந்தரம் ॥
    itīva tadgṛhamabhigamya ṡōbhanam
    savismayō nagamiva cāruṡōbhanam ।
    punaṡca tatparamasugandhi sundaram
    himātyayē nagamiva cārukandaram ॥
    He was wonderstruck as
    he entered that beautiful house,
    which was splendid like a mountain.
    Exuding excellent fragrance,
    it was like a mountain in the spring
    with beautiful caverns.

    5.7.16 ஈ தத: ஸ தாம் கபிரபிபத்ய பூஜிதாம்
    சரந் புரீம் தஸமுகபாஹுபாலிதாம் ।
    அத்ருஸ்ய தாம் ஜநகஸுதாம் ஸுபூஜிதாம்
    ஸுது:கித: பதிகுணவேகநிர்ஜிதாம் ॥
    tataḥ sa tāṃ kapirabhipatya pūjitām
    caran purīṃ daṡamukhabāhupālitām ।
    adṛṡya tāṃ janakasutāṃ supūjitām
    suduḥkhitaḥ patiguṇavēganirjitām ॥
    Going about the well managed city
    that was under the protection of
    the strong arms of the Ten-Faced,
    the Vānara felt very sad not finding
    the revered daughter of Janaka
    who was won in no time by the
    irresistible virtues of her husband.

    5.7.17 ஈ ததஸ்ததா பஹுவிதபாவிதாத்மந:
    க்ருதாத்மநோ ஜநகஸுதாம் ஸுவர்த்மந: ।
    அபஸ்யதோऽபவததிது:கிதம் மந:
    ஸுசக்ஷுஷ: ப்ரவிசரதோ மஹாத்மந: ॥
    tatastadā bahuvidhabhāvitātmanaḥ
    kṛtātmanō janakasutāṃ suvartmanaḥ ।
    apaṡyatō'bhavadatiduḥkhitaṃ manaḥ
    sucakṣuṣaḥ pravicaratō mahātmanaḥ ॥
    Then, that Mahātma, a resolute one,
    who always followed the right path
    and was exceptionally vigilant,
    going about there thoroughly
    and not finding the daughter of Janaka,
    became very sad, with many thoughts
    overwhelming his mind.
    இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
    ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
    ஸுந்தரகாண்டே ஸப்தமஸ்ஸர்க:॥
    ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
    ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
    sundarakāṇḍē saptamassargaḥ॥
    Thus concludes the seventh Sarga
    in Sundara Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
    the first ever poem of humankind,
    composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
