    Sundara Kaanda Sarga 34

    Sundara Kaanda - Sarga 34
In this Sarga, Hanuman, who heard Seetā describing her story, tells her that he has come as the envoy of Rāma, and that Rāma and Lakshmaṇa inquire her wellbeing. Seetā’s heart swells with joy hearing the wellbeing of the brothers and she feels good that her waiting for a long while without taking her own life has proved to be worth it. She feels very affectionate towards Hanumān and Hanumān then comes close to her.
But as he moves close to her, she doubts if he is actually Rāvaṇa in disguise. She regrets being candid with him. But then, she also wonders whether she is dreaming. She wishes she saw Rāma and Lakshmana in her dream. She also wonders whether she is hallucinating and creating images in her own mind. Finally, she concludes that the Vānara must be Rāvaṇa and stays quiet without answering him.
Hanumān, sensing the doubt n her mind, sings praises of Rāma again and tells her that Rāma, Lakshmana and Sugreeva inquire her wellbeing. He assures her that, not before too long, she would see them coming along with crores of Vānara and kill Rāvaṇa.
He pleads with her to trust him.
