Being the amateur that he was in fight,
and being intoxicated with valor, he,
with his eyes turning blood-red in raging anger,
approached the Vānara who had no match in fight,
like an elephant getting close to a huge pit
    covered with straws of grass.

Struck by arrows that lodged on him with force,
the son of Vāyu made a loud thunder-like noise
and shot into the sky in an instant
    stretching his arms and thighs
    creating a terrifying spectacle.

As he sprang up thus, (Aksha) the best of the
Rākshasas and the best of the best of charioters,

That Vānara, a Veera of fierce prowess in battles
who moved with the speed of mind,
moved around in the (sky) where the wind blows,

    Taking note of how Aksha
    was fighting with passion
wielding the bow and blotting the sky

Shot between his shoulders by that
