There gathered in the sky Nāgas, Yakshas, Maharshis and
Siddhas who sojourn among the celestial constellations,
and hosts of birds, uttering loud and delighted cries.

    Seeing Indrajit coming along
    swiftly in his chariot,
the swift Vānara let out a great shout
    and started increasing in size.

The Vānara and the son of the Rākshasa King met,
both possessed of terrible speed and immense strength,
each with the least doubt about winning the battle,
locked in enmity like Suras and Asuras.

Swelling to a huge size, the Vānara
    of unimaginable (strength) moved
with ease in the track of his father
making waste of the speed of the arrows
    of that bow-wielding Veera, a super-charioter,

Then that Veera, a slayer of the foe,

that were decorated with beautiful feathers
and splendid golden rings, which fell swiftly
with the impact of the thunderbolt.

Hearing the sound of the rumble of the chariot,
the din of Mṛdanga, kettle drum and Paṭaha
and the twang of bowstring as it was drawn,
the Vānara sprang up again. This Ṡlōka seems to be out of place, possibly due to a shuffle of the palm leaves over the course of time. This Ṡlōka would flow well if it is placed between the 20th and 21st Ṡlōkas.
