In this Sarga, Hanuman relates to Rāma the conversation between Seetā and him, and how he consoled her with reassuring words.

punaruktassasambhramam ।
tava snēhānnaravyāghra
sauhārdādanumānya vai ॥
O tiger among men! The lady while giving me leave,
hastened to say these words again,
betraying her love and affection for you:

rāmō dāṡarathistvayā ।
yathā māmāpnuyācchīghram
hatvā rāvaṇamāhavē ॥
You should say this to
Rāma, the son of Daṡaratha
in as many ways as possible,
so that he regains me quickly,
killing Rāvaṇa in battle.

vasaikāhamarindama ।
kasmiṃṡcitsaṃvṛtē dēṡē
vikrāntaṡṡvō gamiṣyasi ॥
If you could give a thought to it,
O Veera! O subduer of foe,
you might as well take rest here for one more day
in some concealed location and leave tomorrow.

மம சாப்யல்பபாக்யாயா:
ஸாந்நித்யாத்தவ வீர்யவந் ।
அஸ்ய ஸோகவிபாகஸ்ய

mama cāpyalpabhāgyāyāḥ
sānnidhyāttava vīryavan ।
asya ṡōkavipākasya
muhūrtaṃ syādvimōkṣaṇam ॥
I, who is only so much fortunate,
will find relief from this haunting grief,
because of your presence, O Valorous one,
at least for a little while!

punarāgamanāya vai ।
prāṇānāmapi sandēhō
mama syānnātra saṃṡayaḥ ॥
Once you, of great prowess, leave,
even though it is only to come back again,
my survival will be in doubt,
and there is no doubt about it.

பூயோ மாம் பரிதாபயேத் ।

bhūyō māṃ paritāpayēt ।
duḥkhāddhuḥkhaparābhūtām
durgatāṃ duḥkhabhāginīm ॥
Once you are out of sight,
the grief will haunt me again.
The ill-fated me, whose lot is
filled with nothing but sorrows,
is being thrown from one sorrow to another.

அயம் ச வீர ஸந்தேஹ:

ayaṃ ca vīra sandēhaḥ
tiṣṭhatīva mamāgrataḥ ।
sumahāṃstvatsahāyēṣu
haryṛkṣēṣu harīṡvara ॥
And there is this big nagging question that
stands staring in front of me, O lord of Vānaras,
about your aides, the Vānaras and bears:

கதம் நு கலு துஷ்பாரம்
தரிஷ்யந்தி மஹோததிம் ।
தாநி ஹர்ய்ருக்ஷஸைந்யாநி

kathaṃ nu khalu duṣpāram
tariṣyanti mahōdadhim ।
tāni haryṛkṣasainyāni
tau vā naravarātmajau ॥
How will that army of Vānaras and bears,
or for that matter, those
two sons of the king of men,
cross the great ocean that
is so difficult to cross!

த்ரயாணாமேவ பூதாநாம்
ஸாகரஸ்யாஸ்ய லங்கநே ।

trayāṇāmēva bhūtānām
sāgarasyāsya laṅghanē ।
ṡaktissyādvainatēyasya
tava vā mārutasya vā ॥
Only three beings among all the creatures
are capable of jumping over the ocean,
Vainatēya, you and Vāyu!

ததஸ்மிந்கார்யநிர்யோகே
வீரைவம் துரதிக்ரமே ।
கிம் பஸ்யஸி ஸமாதாநம்

vīraivaṃ duratikramē ।
kiṃ paṡyasi samādhānam
brūhi kāryavidāṃ varaḥ ॥
That being the challenge ahead
that is quite difficult to surmount,
O Veera, O best among taskmasters,
tell me what you see as a solution?

காமமஸ்ய த்வமேவைக:
கார்யஸ்ய பரிஸாதநே ।
பர்யாப்த: பரவீரக்ந

kāryasya parisādhanē ।
paryāptaḥ paravīraghna
yaṡasyastē balōdayaḥ ॥
Certainly, you are capable of
killing every warrior among the enemies and
accomplishing the mission all by yourself,
and it would bring you quite a fame!

பலைஸ்ஸமக்ரைர்யதி மாம்
ஹத்வா ராவணமாஹவே ।
விஜயீ ஸ்வாம் புரீம் ராமோ

balaissamagrairyadi mām
hatvā rāvaṇamāhavē ।
vijayī svāṃ purīṃ rāmō
nayēttatsyādyaṡaskaram ॥
But Rāma would be held in good esteem,
if he is victorious in killing Rāvaṇa
and all his forces in the battle
and takes me to his home city!

யதாऽஹம் தஸ்ய வீரஸ்ய
வநாதுபதிநா ஹ்ருதா ।
ரக்ஷஸா தத்பயாதேவ

vanādupadhinā hṛtā ।
rakṣasā tadbhayādēva
tathā nārhati rāghavaḥ ॥
There is no need for Rāghava to fear the Rākshasa
and take me away (in stealth) like
the Rākshasa did by tricking the Veera in the Vana.

பலைஸ்து ஸங்குலாம் க்ருத்வா
லங்காம் பரபலார்தந: ।
மாம் நயேத்யதி காகுத்ஸ்த:

balaistu saṅkulāṃ kṛtvā
laṅkāṃ parabalārdanaḥ ।
māṃ nayēdyadi kākutsthaḥ
tattasya sadṛṡaṃ bhavēt ॥
It would be befitting of Kākutstha,
who pulverizes his enemies,
if he takes me away, throwing
Laṅkā into turmoil with his power.

தத்யதா தஸ்ய விக்ராந்தம்
அநுரூபம் மஹாத்மந: ।
பவேதாஹவஸூரஸ்ய
ததா த்வமுபபாதய ॥
tadyathā tasya vikrāntam
anurūpaṃ mahātmanaḥ ।
bhavēdāhavaṡūrasya
tathā tvamupapādaya ॥
Hence, please arrange it so,
that that Mahātma, a dare devil in battles,
would get to display all the prowess
that is the like of his!

ததர்தோபஹிதம் வாக்யம்
ப்ரஸ்ரிதம் ஹேதுஸம்ஹிதம் ।

tadarthōpahitaṃ vākyam
praṡritaṃ hētusaṃhitam ।
niṡamyāhaṃ tata ṡṡēṣam
vākyamuttaramabruvam ॥
Hearing those purposeful and well-reasoned words
that were spoken in all sincerity,
I responded, saying what was left to be said:

தேவி ஹர்ய்ருக்ஷஸைந்யாநாம்
ஈஸ்வர: ப்லவதாம் வர: ।

தவார்தே க்ருதநிஸ்சய: ॥
dēvi haryṛkṣasainyānām
īṡvaraḥ plavatāṃ varaḥ ।
sugrīvassattvasampannaḥ
tavārthē kṛtaniṡcayaḥ ॥
O Dēvi! Sugreeva, the best of Vānaras
and the lord of Vānara and bear armies,
endowed with immense power,
is completely committed to your cause.
