tasya vikramasampannāḥ
sattvavantō mahābalāḥ ।
manassaṅkalpasampātā
nidēṡē harayaḥ sthitāḥ ॥
The Vānaras of terrific prowess,
great power and immense strength,
who can move at the speed of their thought,
are standing ready, at his beck and call.

யேஷாம் நோபரி நாதஸ்தாத்

na tiryaksajjatē gatiḥ ।
na ca karmasu sīdanti
mahatsvamitatējasaḥ ॥
Nothing can obstruct their movement
upward, downward or sideways.
Endowed with limitless power,
they do not cave in even under
the most demanding of tasks.

vānarairbaladarpitaiḥ ।
pradakṣiṇīkṛtā bhūmiḥ
vāyumārgānusāribhiḥ ॥
The earth was encircled, many a time,
by those blessed Vānaras
who are haughty with their strength and
who follow the tracks of the wind.

மத்விஸிஷ்டாஸ்ச துல்யாஸ்ச

madviṡiṣṭāṡca tulyāṡca
santi tatra vanaukasaḥ ।
mattaḥ pratyavaraḥ kaṡcit
nāsti sugrīvasannidhau ॥
The Vana dwellers that are there
are either better than me
or at least as good as me.
There is no one in Sugreeva’s company
who is inferior to me.

ahaṃ tāvadiha prāptaḥ
kiṃ punastē mahābalāḥ ।
na hi prakṛṣṭāḥ prētyantē
prēṣyantē hītarē janāḥ ॥
If I myself could come here,
what to say of those mighty strong ones?
The exceptional ones will never be deployed (first),
but only the ordinary ones, is it not?

தேவி மந்யுர்வ்யபைது தே ।

dēvi manyurvyapaitu tē ।
ēkōtpātēna tē laṅkām
ēṣyanti hariyūthapāḥ ॥
Hence, O Dēvi, enough of worry; give up your grief!
The warrior chiefs of Vānaras will
arrive in Laṅkā in a single hop.

candrasūryāvivōditau ।
tvatsakāṡaṃ mahābhāgē
nṛsiṃhāvāgamiṣyataḥ ॥
Those two lions among men of immense strength
will come here to your presence, seated on my back,
like the rising sun and moon.

க்ஷிப்ரம் த்ரக்ஷ்யஸி ராகவம் ।

arighnaṃ siṃhasaṅkāṡam
kṣipraṃ drakṣyasi rāghavam ।
lakṣmaṇaṃ ca dhanuṣpāṇim
laṅkādvāramupasthitam ॥
You will soon see lion-like Rāghava
who decimates his enemies,
and Lakshmaṇa with bow in his hand,
arriving at the gates of Laṅkā!

ஸிம்ஹஸார்தூலவிக்ரமாந் ।

nakhadaṃṣṭrāyudhān vīrān
siṃhaṡārdūlavikramān ।
vānarānvāraṇōndrābhān
kṣipraṃ drakṣasi saṅgatān ॥
You will very soon see
the company of Vānara Veeras
who are terrific, like tigers and lions
and majestic like elephants,
having nails and fangs for weapons.

laṅkāmalayasānuṣu ।
nardatāṃ kapimukhyānām
acirācchrōṣyasi svanam ॥
Before it is too long, you will hear the
sound of the roar of chiefs of Vānaras
who resemble mountains and clouds themselves,
on the flanks of Laṅkā’s Malaya mountain.

நிவ்ருத்தவநவாஸம் ச
த்வயா ஸார்தமரிந்தமம் ।
அபிஷிக்தமயோத்யாயாம்

nivṛttavanavāsaṃ ca
tvayā sārdhamarindamam ।
abhiṣiktamayōdhyāyām
kṣipraṃ drakṣyasi rāghavam ॥
You will very soon see Rāghava, the subduer of foe,
completing his stay in the Vana and
getting consecrated in Ayōdhyā along with you.

ததோ மயா வாக்பிரதீநபாஷிணா
ஸிவாபிரிஷ்டாபிரபிப்ரஸாதிதா ।

tatō mayā vāgbhiradīnabhāṣiṇā
ṡivābhiriṣṭābhirabhiprasāditā ।
jagāma ṡāntiṃ mama maithilātmajā
tavāpi ṡōkēna tadābhipīḍitā ॥
The daughter of Mithila’s King, who was
tormented badly by the grief of (separation from) you,
found solace, calmed by my cheering,
pleasing and well-boding words.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே । ।
சதுர்விம்ஸத்ஸஹஸ்ரிகாயாம் ஸம்ஹிதாயாம்
ஸுந்தரகாண்டே அஷ்டஷஷ்டிதமஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē । ।
caturviṃṡatsahasrikāyāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ
sundarakāṇḍē aṣṭaṣaṣṭitamassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes Sundara Kāṇḍa
consisting of sixty eight Sargas,
in the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
of twenty four thousand Ṡlōkas
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
