Yuddha Kaanda - Sarga 50
In this Sarga, Sugreeva finds that the Vānaras are panicking, mistaking Vibheeshaṇa to be Indrajit, and asks Jāmbavān to tell them that it is not the case and restore order among them. Vibheeshaṇa is himself in agony, seeing Rāma and Lakshmaṇa lying on the ground, locked in a mesh of arrows. He laments that his life itself is at risk now, never mind his aspirations to the throne. Sugreeva consoles him saying that Rāma and Lakshmaṇa are only unconscious, and not in death-pangs.
He tells Sushēṇa, his father-in-law, that he should go back to Kishkindhā taking Rāma and Lakshmaṇa with him after they regain consciousness and that he would kill Rāvaṇa and recover Seetā. Sushēṇa then tells him of the divine herbs to be found on the mountains in the milky ocean that were used by Bṛihaspati to heal the Dēvas wounded in the fight between them and the Dānavas. He tells Sugreeva to send Hanumān, Saṃpāti, Panasa and others to bring those herbs.
Meanwhile Garuḍa flies down from the sky, on seeing whom, the serpents, sons of Kadru, that were transformed into arrows by Indrajit, that were clutching Rāma and Lakshmaṇa, slithered away, fleeing that place. With the touch of Garuḍa, the wounds of Rāma and Lakshmaṇa get healed and they regain their strength, valor and all their other qualities, in double the measure. Garuḍa leaves after exchanging pleasantries, and advising the brothers and the Vānaras to guard themselves against the devious fighting techniques of the Rākshasas.
Seeing the brothers become their usual selves, the Vānaras jump in joy and head to the gateways of Laṅkā, letting off war whoops.

I don’t think this stampede is without a cause.
With frightened faces the Vānaras
flee in all directions, abandoning their weapons,
their eyes bulging with terror.

They do not so much as look behind them.
They drag each other and jump over those who fall.

the bodies of Rāma and Lakshmaṇa.

Taking water into his hands and
wiping their eyes with his wet hand,
his heart distressed by grief, he cried and lamented:

vikrāntau priyasaṃyugau ।
imāmavasthāṃ gamitau
rākṣasaiḥ kūṭayōdhibhiḥ ॥
These two are extremely strong and
are full of prowess, who love to be in a fight;
it is the Rākshasas’ unfair fighting
that has brought them to this pass.

They, who only strike
in a fair and square manner,
were duped by my brother’s son
an evil son and an evil soul,
with crafty meanness that
comes naturally to Rākshasas.

6.50.17 ஈ
ஸரைரிமாவலம் வித்தௌ
ருதிரேண ஸமுக்ஷிதௌ ।
வஸுதாயாமிமௌ ஸுப்தௌ
த்ருஸ்யேதே ஸல்யகாவிவ ॥
ṡarairimāvalaṃ viddhau
rudhirēṇa samukṣitau ।
vasudhāyāmimau suptau
dṛṡyētē ṡalyakāviva ॥
Lying unconscious on the ground,
their bodies bathed in blood
and pierced enough by arrows
they look like porcupines.
