    Coming to Sri Vinayaka Astothram

    Aum Vighnarajaya Namah
Salutation to the ruler of obstacles

    2 Line

Sri Vinayaka is described as the King or Ruler of Obstacles !! This is totally not correct
Sri Vinayaka is actually does not care to put or remove obstacles for anyone even the devotees.

He is not the King of obstacles either.

Obstacles are created by our own action: when we pray to Sri Vinayaka we seek strength to face the obstacles or any adverse situation

Ganesha Ashtakam Lyrics - Asthakam of Vinayaka (Pillayar)

    Yatho Anantha Shakthir Anathascha Jeeva,
    Yatho Nirgunadha Aprameyaa Gunasthe,
Yatho Bhathi Saravam Tridha Bedha Binnam,
Sada Tham Ganesam Namamo Bhajama 1

We sing about and salute that Lord Ganesh,
From whose limitless power emerged countless beings,
From whose property less form emerged great qualities,
And from whose power the world is divided in to a triad

Yathaschaviraseej jagath sarvametha,Thadhabjasano viswgo viswagoptha,Thandendradhayo deva sanga manushya,Sada tham Ganesam namamo bhajama., 2We sing about and salute that Ganesa,
From whom this entire universe emerged,
And from whom Brahma who sits on a lotus,
    Vishnu who pervades the universe,
Shiva who can hide this universe,
Indra, other devas and men emerged.

This sloka appearing in Ganesha Purana contradicts other Puranas.

(Probably here too God is one but Names are different )

    In Temples while giving THEERTHAM

We also find that some Temple Sasthrigal/ Gurukal chant this while giving Theertha to Devotees
    "....AKALA MRITHU KARANAM.......SARVA VYADHI NIVARANAM.....SARVA
    PAPAKSHAYAKARAM...VARUNA PADHOTHAKAM SUBAM......"

AKALA MRITHU KARANAM ....means causing unscheduled death ....
    it should be...
AKALA MRITHU HARANAM.......means ...destroying/doing samharam of the
    unscheduled death....
