Tuskers lined up in full decor with Nettipattam (a glittering ornament that adorns the forehead of an elephant during processions and festivals in Kerala).

* Legend has it that the Nettipattam was designed by Lord Brahma. And Iravath, the white elephant of Lord Indra, was the first lucky elephant to wear it.

* Traditionally Nettipattam were made with copper and gold plating, but in the recent days sacrifices are made in gold plating owing to the rising prices.
