  • Nitya Karma

    Dear Learned members

Nitya karma refers to those karmas (or rituals) which have to be performed daily by Hindus. The Hindu Shastras say that not performing nitya karmas leads to sin. The nitya karmas include:
    1) Snana (bathing)
    2) Sandhyavandanam
    3) Devataarchanam
    4) Aupasanam
    5) Agnihotram

    regarding #1 & 2, it is self explanatory. Can good links/pointers/books/video be shared for #3, 4 & 5.

    thanks

    Re: Nitya Karma

    Dear Cheenu,

Item 2,3,4 and 5 are not for Hindus and only for Brahmins. Already there are articles in this forum about this and can be searched in google. However some of the members including me can find and give more details soon.

    Very good thread.

    Thanks

        Re: Nitya Karma

        Sri:
        3) Devataarchanam
        4) Aupasanam
        5) Agnihotram
        3. Devataarchanam is nothing but Perumal Aradhanam - which is already given in this forum, please search using the quick menu in the right side. or Click here

4 and 5 are very difficult to practice in daily basis.
One should leave all his other lowkika duties like going to office or business, traveling to other places and worldly things for this.
