    Swamin,
We wish to place the following for your kind attention & favorable gesture for the "Renovation" of Sri Alarmelu Manga Samedha Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple in our Native Place, Osur , Vandavasi Taluk, Tiruvannamalai Dt., We have a 500 year old Temple "SRI SRINIVASAPERUMAL TEMPLE" in my native place at "OSUR" Village on the "melmaruvaththoor & Vandawasi main road", which is in a bad condition & had to be taken care off. The place is about 102 km from Chennai. My grand father has lived there about .75 years back and my father moved to Madras since 1930s. Other Osur families also moved to Bangalore, Chennai & other places. Late Sri S.Sriraman, Former President Board of Control For Cricket in India .was born here in 1918..(attached) The village elders & Brahmins who were earlier settled in "OSUR" joined together and formed a committee for "Renovating" the temple. With the help of local elders, Osur born Brahmins we have formed a committee named as "Sri Srinivasa Perumal Kainkarya Sabha, Osur .Sri A.P.Gopal Reddiyar (APR Logistics)took over as President. Myself (R.Srinivasa Raaghavan) as Secretary & Sri P.G.Rathinam Yadhav as Treasurer. We had arranged to go to Osurtemple every month to perform "Thirumanjanam" & other social activities. Diabetes detection camp , tree planting programme Veterinary camp for cattle , were held with the help of "Lions Club of T'Nagar & Exnora Officials.. Later we had "Balalayam" of Perumal amidst good gathering of Osur families & Village elders. We have entrusted the "Renovation" work to Silpi Sri S. Radhakrishnan (of vandavasi), after scrutinising five tenders. The total cost of the project worked out to Rs.108.00 lakhs. We have published about the temple in "Kumudham Jothidam" issue dated 4th Jan 2013 (Editor Sri A.M.Rajagopalan , who is well known to many readers throughout India , U,S. & U.K.and other countries) We had a tremendous response from all corners including Singapore. Funds pouring every day, by Money orders, Cheques & also directly to Bank account. The Osureans , committee members and their families gave donations . Sri A.K.Gopal Reddiar (APR Logistics), President of the Sabha is donating Rs.25,000/- every month and assured to give till "Samprokshanam" All the committee members have donated Rs.31,000/- each. Myself & Sri Sriraman Srinivasan (committee member) had donated Rs.56,000/- each. Two Osureans donated Rs. One lakh each some well wishers donate from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.50,000/- Sri O.S.Santhanam, Committee Member & still a native of Osur , has collected nearly Rs.3.00 lakhs from his family members & Friends. Further on his "Sashtiabdhapoorthy " function held on 7th April 2013, he has donated the entire "Asirvatha Money" to the Temple . He has also assured to give Rs.10,000/- each month till "Samprokshanam" of the Temple. Nearly about Rs.5.00 to Rs.7.00 lakhs collected to meet the immediate requirement as the "Project is under progress" Now after demolition of old structure, foundation is completed and the sthapathi is taking over for further construction. The period of the project is 24 months & "Samprokshanam" will be held in 2015. Srimath Azagiyasingar H,H 45th Jeer visited this place & Srinivasa Perumal of this temple on 29.09.1994 & performed dolai. Thistemple is only a few kilometers away from Injimedu & Villivalam. This temple is only a few kilometers away from Injimedu Thaiyar,,Navalpakkam & Villivalam.
After a review of many architects, the restoration committee hired Silpi A. Radha Krishnan, a traditional architect, sculptor and engineer from Kanchipuram. He is a specialist in vastu shastra, temple architecture and secular architecture. He belongs to a Stapathi (temple architect) family named Viswakarma in India. His forefathers were temple architects by profession, and he is a follower of them. He is a student of Shri. V Ganapathy Sthapathi, a well-known temple architect in India and around the world. He has worked on dozens of temple projects in Tamil Nadu.
His aim is to revive distant past traditions. Due to the lack of patronage, ancient traditions have lost glory since the 17th century. He works to link age old traditions to the modern world. He uses modern architecture, engineering and computer aided designs to restore ancient temples according to traditional design principles.
