  • HOMAM

Swamin,I understand that some brihasbathis place kopparai thengai in a tray made of aluminium foil, pour ghee and consign fire in it instead of samithu or wicks

for Homam so that no smoke emanates from it ; this they say is more hygenic. Have you seen this or have you heard of the same. Is this the modern practice?

    Kindly clarify and oblige.

    Dear Swamin,
Recently I have heard about it.
Now I am started trying this here also.
Now a days most of the people are not liking the smoke while homams.
If we use the well dried Savukku sticks there will be no much smoke
also should not over load with sticks at a time.
We should pour more good quality gee to get good flame from which a good fume will be produced
which is very very good for brain and three indhriyams Eye, Ear and Nose.
