Aupaasana agni clarification

Dear nvs swamin,
Iam having clarification on the preserving aupaasana agni. As iam living in flats , iam not able to preserve the agni in a pot. Can i preserve the agni in a lamp as instead of preserving it in a pot? Kindly answer and clarify my question and enlighten me.
