In this vrata, which begins from Aashada Shudda Dwadashi to Sharavana Shuddha Dashami, one should not offer Vegetables, Plaintain, Coconut , fruits as Neivedya or Hastodaka to God and also he should not eat. The following things are NOT used in this month:
Tamarind
Chana dal
Vegetables
Coconut
Fruits (Mangoes are allowed)
red chillies (substitute with Black pepper)
Turmeric
Asafoetida(Hing)
Mustards(add cumins in place of mustards)
No dry fruits(like cardamoms, raisins, cashews, almonds., )
